If the engine is still running you are probably ok. The sending unit is bad the same thing happened to me. I spent 3 hours pulling things apart. I could see the sending unit or as they call it the oil pressure sensor but it was in between three other things on the left front of the engine. Then you have to unhook the wires that have a special release on them so I didn't want to rip them off I got fed up and looked in the repair manual and it said about 1 hour for the dealer to replace. I called the dealer and he said 85 dollars a repair shop by the house said 70 dollars and I could wait for it. I got it in writing that it would be 70 dollars and I waited 8 hours while they put it in I told them it was hard but they wouldn't believe me. So have a repair shop do it and get it in writing

I reset the oil change light in my 2004 Alero, but the chimes and light won't go away.

Depress the accelerator pedal fully three times within five seconds. Allow the pedal to release fully after each pump. Listen for a chime, indicating the procedure is successful. The "Change Oil" light will turn off.. With the ignition key in ON, press the RESET
button located in the driver's side instrument panel
fuse block. See "Instrument Panel Fuse Block" in
the Index.
2. When the CHANGE OIL light starts to flash, press
and hold the RESET button again.
The reset is complete when you hear the chimes
sound and the CHANGE OIL light goes out.

As I remember, the first button press(s) step through lighting the change oil light, the tire pressure light and no light on the dash. Stop pressing while the change oil light is lit and then press and hold until the chimes.

Can someone help me my pt cruizer 2004 oil come one and blinks on and off and ding a lot if i change my oil would it stop and stays off

Yes, changing the oil will help, however, you will also have to clear the "change oil" light. Either figure out what buttons to press to delete that, or go to an auto parts store and ask if they can help you reset it.

How to turn change oil light

iI you mean 'how to turn change oil light off" go to fuse panel. Open drivers door there is a panel cover on the side of dash board, remove cover there is a red RESET button that resets oil pressure and tire pressure. Turn the ignition key to the on position but don't start the car. Now press and release the reset button the change oil light should start to flash, now press and hold the reset button until you hear chimming hold until chimming stops then release, the change oil light should go off. If you need to reset tire pressure press reset button twice, the first push will make the change oil light flash the second press will make the tire pressure light flash then hold untill chimming stops, light should go out . Hope this helps.

Reset change oil light

hello, here is the instructions on how to reset the light

When the system has calculated that oil life has been diminished, it will indicate that an oil change is necessary. A CHANGE ENGINE OIL SOON message will come on. Change the engine oil as soon as possible within the next 600 miles (1000 km). It is possible that, if driving under the best conditions, the oil life may not indicate that an oil change is necessary for over a year. However, the engine oil and filter must be changed at least once a year and at this time the system must be reset.
If the system is ever reset accidentally, change the engine oil at 3000 miles (5000 km) since last oil change.
To reset the Engine Oil Life System, do the following:
  1. Turn the ignition to ON, with the engine off.
  2. Slowly fully press and release the accelerator pedal 3 times within 5 seconds.
  3. The reset is complete when the chimes sound and the CHANGE OIL lamp goes out. If the lamp stays on and no chime is heard, repeat the reset procedure.
  4. Turn the key to OFF.
If the CHANGE OIL lamp comes back on when the vehicle is started, the engine oil life system has not reset. Repeat the procedure.
