Toyota lucida 2.2 diesel

The exaust has started to smoke the engin is giting loud the tappets are rattling when it starts.i have put injector cleaner in the tank but after 1000 miles it gose back to the above its due for a service and mot but i am woried that the head gasget may have gone as three months ago it started to over heat and i replaced the radiator and the thermostat this has stopped the over heating but the engine has started to loose small amounts of oil

I feel it is likely to be the injectors squirting the the diesel instead of atomising it. You could try a bottle of Injector cleaner in the tank. There is one just for Toyotas

My Toyota 80 series 1hd turbo is smoking in the morning untill it warms up.when you put your foot on the diesel the engine starts to shake. I changed the diesel filter and the air filter.

have the injectors cleaned and reset by a specialist diesel shop
probably needs new injector tips

Black smoke from exaust pipe

Check the following for black smoke from tail pipe:
- Fuel pump pressure, too low.
- Regulating valve.
- Fuel injectors.
- Element air cleaner.
- Mass air flow sensor.
- Engine coolant temperature sensor.
- Contaminated fuel.
- Heated Oxygen sensor.
- ECU.

Hi
Is it a diesel or petrol motor? If it is Diesel or petrol then black smoke is a sign that it is using excessive fuel so it could be a blocked air filter or fuel filter. if it is a diesel motor. So check these 2 items first.
The low oil level light is on because the engine needs the oil topped up, if you fill it to the correct level this will make the oil level light switch off. Hope this helps, let me know how you get on.

i would check all the basics like spark plugs and check for vacuum leaks around the intake manifold.With a can of 2+2 carb cleaner while engine is running --if idle goes up or down that is were your leak is--
check egr too, Lee

Estima lucida 94 auto diesel needs jump leads every time

put a 12 volt test meter on the battery with the engine off and get the reading.
then start the engine and retest the volts it should go up a volt ot two.
if the test readings are the same then the alternator is bad.

Blue smoke

if its a petrol motor the valve guide seals are gone or if its diesel the glow plugs arn't working properly and may need looking at.

Fiat brava loud tappet

Depending in the mileage, sometimes the crankshaft bearings were out lowering the oil pressure. including an additive or one grade heavier oil could solve the tappets clicking. Also check the connections to the fuel injectors and the gas pressure to the injectors.
