Car starts in high idle only in cold weather, say 35 deg.
First check the error codes. they can be a lifesaver. Physically look under the hood for cracked or leaky vaccuum hoses. High idling often indicates a vaccuum leak somewhere. look at the vaccuum elbows on both the right and left side of the engine just about midway down the engine from front to back on the plenum- that's the big, black flat assy that channels the air as it goes into the engine.
Once again the codes can tell us alot.
The car only idles high at start up when it under 35 deg. And then idel is then normal. No active error codes.
Manuel- There is an Idle motor sensor in this car. I have yet to look it up in my books, but I suspect this of the map sensor could be contributing to this, but I'm not sure yet. Just thought I'd update you on this so you are not waiting on just me. The are perhaps others who can chime in on this. Guys??
