Doesn't sound like the light is the problem. This can be the ballast, aka transformer. Try to interchange the other headlight and see if it duplicates the problem before buying a HID bulb.

What would cause the low beam headlight not to work when all other lights work?

If you have standard halogen bulbs:

  1. Burned out light bulb; or
  2. Fried wires between the dashboard wiring harness and the headlight bulb connectors; or
  3. Fried headlight bulb connectors.
If you have HEI emitters:
  • Failed ballast.

HID Headlamp flickers and then shuts off withing a few seconds after coming on.

Sounds like the head light is defective or the driver for the light. Normally both are replaced.

Are you sure you replaced the bulbs with the same brand/model as on the passenger side? There are a lot of different versions with different light colors and intensities.
If so, have you made sure there is no water vapor in the headlight housing, and that the silvering inside is not degraded?

I would suspect the bulb is at fault or the connector to the bulb, but you don't say the type of headlights you have so that handicaps my diagnosis. As for aftermarket so called high intensity bulbs I would stay away from them.

This is a very common problem with these vans and it is caused by a faulty front control module. The front control module is the silver box attached to the front side of the underhood fuse box and it will need replacing. It's just held in place with screws.

My best advice is to replace the filament bulb with this

it is a interior dome light led replacement bulb made for your vehicle, it costs about 20 bucks, but will never need to be replaced again.

manufacturers are trying to use led's now rather then bulbs due to the no maintenance required factor in their oem books

Headlight flickers or goes out while driving - replaced bulb - same thing. someone said replace a ''power source''??

hi, this is a shorted wire harness. the wire clip that attaches to the back of the bulb has a short in its housing. you will need to replace the headlight wiring harness. this will fix the flickering.
