i got a 2001 silverado 1500 and it wont start it turns over and fires and .... Put the key in and the truck barely starts due to the battery being weak. .... I will try to help you some here but your description is not clear. You say it cranks but wont turn over. Do you mean it clicks but wont turn over? Anyway I would check battery condition and connections. Also check starter connections and ground cables from battery to engine, frame, and body. Hope this helps you out.

The ground should connect to the motor and the motor should connect to the body or chassis. Pour some water on the connection to the engine and the battery terminals. If it is a bad connection things should improve. If you jump start, the donor vehicle needs to be running at a fast idle.

Replace the starter, the solenoid cant engage the starter because it is locked up, hence the extreme voltage drop with the fan when you try to start it with the fan on.

week battery or loose or dirty conection (battery or starter)
clean and reassemble
if week batery try jump start with booster cable or boost box

If you know the batter is good.

Check the Starter to see it is getting power.

Get a test light [6.00] and see if the starter will light up the test light.
If not - then you may need a new starter. From the sounds of it you might want to take it to a professional as this can be a very labor intense job because the starter has to come out the bottom.

Unbolt and clean your battery terminals if dirty or corroded, preferably replace the bolts (good auto parts stores stock them, and they take some effort to remove and replace them but it's necessary to properly clean the terminals anyway) charge, jump or replace battery ... connect battery terminals and don't over tighten ... start the truck, check charging system gauges confirm charging voltage over 12V 13.8V-14.5V and lights should be bright as normal ... if so, you may be fixed ... if not you have charging system issues, that will be the next post if needed.

does the starter make a "clicking noise" when it wont turn over? check your battery cables at the battery and at the starter solenoid....if it not a connection , then it sounds like a bad starter relay/solenoid

Check for power to and from ignition switch,there is also a fused link that can protect the wiring, or keep it from working.Jump starting can make this happen if the proper connections are not made.look at the starter is wiring ok?Make sure you move the shifter out of park and then back,to be sure it is all the way in park,as any miss alignment will not let starter engage.Good luck!

Try loosening the terminals and turning them a bit after spraying them with crc dont take them right off or you might loose the radio code also check the other ends eg earth and starter and do the same if the battery connections don't fix it hope that helps
