Changing f250 fuel filter (gas)

I need help knowing how to change f250 fuel filter on 01 gas truck. It was running fine and then when I shut it off and tried to restart 10 minutes later, it wouldn't completely start. It sounded like it was going too, but never did. does this sound like a fuel filter issue?

Sounds like a fuel pump, but start with the filter.

It is under the truck on the driver side, you have the special tools to release the fuel lines from the filter?

2003 Nissan frontier truck. Running fine change the oil, oil filter, gas filter and know it won't start. When it did it back fired twice. There's no check engine light what happened?

Changing the fuel filter releases the pressure on the lines and drains the system. You need to cycle the key several times to prime the fuel lines again or keep cranking the engine till fuel pressure gets to the proper spec.

A 460 engine that acts like its not getting enough fuel. Will start but runs as if only on half the cylinders missing badly or such.

Check your running fuel pump pressure. If (as I suspect) it's too low, first try changing your fuel filter. After changing the filter, recheck the running fuel pump pressure. If still low, check you fuel pump pressure regulator. If OK, you may need a new fuel pump.

Also probably would be a good idea to replace you air filter.

Good luck!

Van keeps shutting off. i've done a complete tuneup with the exception of changeing the fuel filter. and now it seems to b burning gas or something. 1 minute i have gas and the next i dont

I would seriously consider changing the fuel filter. I'm afraid I don't know the Montana well enough to tell you the exact location of the fuel filter, it should be in the fuel line which should run along the left side of the van. This does take a couple special tools as well they'll run you around $20-$30 and the filter should run about the same.

spray some carb cleaner down the breather pipe the carb could be clogged up so it is not opening properly and choking the engine or flush out your feul they may be dirty and your not getting enough fuel through when you need it or your air intake senser might need changing cus if your air/fuel mix is wrong your engine will stall

My 92 GMC Sierra starts and runs great for 5 to 10 minutes then chokes it self out like its getting too much fuel. I changed Cap, rotor, plugs, plug wires. Do I keep changing sensors and electronic valves...

Hello, I recommend changing the fuel filter. Old trucks are known to do this and I found that changing the fuel filter helps alot. After the filter change add some fuel injector cleaner and put some gas in it and see if this helps. It would not hurt to change your air filter and change your oil. Always do the cheapest things first especially in this economy. If this does not help let me know. This could also be your fuel cut off solenoid. In most vehicles these get hot and the truck just shuts off and you think it may be a loose battery wire or bad spark plug gap; sometimes it's just this solenoid. You could replace it but you can only get them at a dealership and there not cheap. You could also bypass it but I do not recommend that becuase in a case of an accident the fuel will not be shut off. I hope this fixes your problem.

How do you drain the fuel tank of a 98 ford f250

If you do plan on replacing the fuel filter, just take the filter off and see if you can just run the fuel pump and catch the fuel in a gas can.
