JUST SAW, the most common cause of your engine dying and backfiring while driving on highway would be low fuel pressure. check fuel filter for foreign debris. filter may be clogged or restricted, also a weak fuel pujmp. the other thing could also be a stuck e.g.r. valve, this would have some exhaust carbon deposit stuck on the seat of the valve producing a vacuum leak, but it would not idle properly.faulty fuel pump would give you a good engine idle but would starve for fuel at high highway speeds, when the engine needs for fuel for proper operation.

What should be fuel pressure be at 3500rpm truck ideals find until you drive it as soon as you give it gas spider backfires let off and it find change fuel filler ??

The fuel pressure is constant eighter at idle or highway speeds .
Fuel injection systems have a return line to the tank..
The problem could be the fuel filter the pressure should be around 60 PSI but this is on the supply side comeing from the pump to the to the engine or injection system.
However the problem could also be a clogged catalistic convetor. If the exhaust can't get out the engine will not run so good. Look at the thing and think about then do something.
Good luck

Rough idle while in park, cutting out on highway

It could be something as simple as a vacuum line, but sounds fuel related. Possible pump.get a fuel pressure reading done and if pressure doesn't hold.....suspect fuel pump

My 2003 Ford Focus dies when idling after a little road trip.

have the check engine light checked at a parts store its usuall free. I would bet its the idle air control motor. This controls the fuel air mixture at idle

I have problems with my 98 chevy k1500 pickup on the highway. Once i hit about 65 mph it wont accelerate and it backfires. also, after i come to a stop and try to accelerate up to highway speeds again,...

If it is running bad enough to be backfiring, the Check Engine light should be on. I would start with scanning the engine computer for fault codes.
