I changed the oil first that didn't work now I replaced the oil sending unit/switch and put new oil in again i used a quart of the lucas and 3 quarts of high mileage 5w 30. I drove it for fifteen mins and when I stopped to idle it came back on and every idle after that.. My Engine idle is correct 1000 RPMs what is the next move? I was told either a oil pump works or it don't ??? I don't want any engine damage to occurr please help
Hello! As long as the oil pressure does not drop below 10-15 lbs at idle and iccreases with rpm/s I would not worry...Change to a higher range viscosity oil; 10W30 in the summer and 10W40 in the winter and you should not have a problem...Guru...saailer

If your oil pressure gets to low it can turn off the fuel pump. This may also have saved your engine. The ECM turns on the fuel thru the fuel pump relay for about 5 seconds. When engine is running oil pressure sender supplies the voltage to the pump. When engine shuts off check oil pressure and voltage to fuel pump.
