I have a 2006 suzuki grand vitara and my malfunction light has came on also my cruise control is not working...recently had a tuneup and oil change the whole vehicle was checked out as I was getting ready to travel ... any ideas on this??

Hello and welcome to FixYa!

As a first course of action, I strongly suggest that you remove the positive battery connector and let it sit for at least 5mins. before reconnecting it. This will reset the system and can get your vehicle back to it's normal operation.

2006 Suzuki Grand Vitara going down the road on cruise and the cruise suddenly turns off and the check engine light comes on. Code says too lean banks 1 and 2 but runs the same. ?????

you probably wont notice it to much and remote start and cruise control will not work when their is an engine trouble code --as to the code do search type in --p0--- for search and look into the multi answers most have what causes and solutions to the problem

this is a complex car, and engines.
Just 1 code? and no pendings?
A DIESEL engine , and in USA , are ya> or in Canada?

the shop manual for all complex cars, is a must have.

P2 codes are factory codes, unique to only Suzuki ,
so use their books.

but cleaning it , is not the only way to fix it.
the manual covers this, and how the test works and what can make it fail, simple swaps or cleans dont always work.

it should be a clean drop though clearing the crossmember may be tough (even harder if its a 4 wheel drive)

Here is a site that should help. If I could hook my scanner up I could tell you in minutes if the O2 sensor was working by watching the data stream. the code means you are running lean on the #2 side. This can be caused by a vacuum leak or even a bad sensor. It has to be diagnosed. Read more in this site:
