1995 chevy suburban headlights won't come on but running lights work (headlights previously worked). No high or low beams, no high beam indicator light. Bulbs seemed to be ok, fuses seem to be ok. Not sure whether or not there should be drl but I've never noticed it (only had the truck a couple of months). Tried replacing switch assembly but nothing changed.

Common for the wire harness on the switch to go bad. Inspect the wire harness where it clips on to the switch and look for any signs of damage.

The plastic heats up from the current running through the switch and causes it to melt and then you loose connection caused from melted plastic between the contacts from the harness to the switch.

There is a upgrade to the headlight harness which is larger then the ones that came with the Suburban to address this issues. You can get them at the dealer or NAPA i believe.

Good luck and keep us posted. Thank you for using fixya and stay safe.

Testimonial: "I replaced the turn signal switch which solved the problem. It was that. The headlight wires had melted at the connector. The pain is the new turn signal switch has a malfunctioning wiper component causing the wiper delay to turn on with out being on. Now I have to do it all over. "

98 Chevy metro regular headlights don't work but high beams do, suggestions?

I have seen both low beam bulbs burn out at the same time.
Its possible the relays have burnt out for the low beams.

2001 suburban

Well the high and low beam lamps use the same fuses, and the dimmer switch handles the ground circuit. So I would check the dimmer switch if both high beam bulbs are ok.

My night time headlights won't turn on. All the other lights including High Beams work.

Have you checked to see if the bulbs are burnt out or if the low beam fuses are Blown?

Where is the headlight relay in the 1998 jimmy? Low beams won't come onat night everything else does. high beams work

There is a headlight relay in the engine compartment fuse box, but its after the headlight switch and before the dimmer switch, so it powers both high and low beam circuits.
I would check the dimmer switch.

I have a 1995 Ford Explorer Limited and the high beams work but the low beams and fog lights do not, please help....

These trucks are known for bad multifuction switches.
the switch that i talk of is the signal switch , the handle is the switch, it bolts to side of steering column . this switch controls the signals and the headlights and high /low beams. the other thing is the headlight switch connector, the connector some times goes bad and starts to melt or just comes out of the connector. you will need to remove the cover to steering column, the screws are located under the bottom cover in holes. remove cover and check connector and then test for power if you have power going into switch but not coming out then switch is bad.

the last thing is to make sure the bulbs are good , make sure the headlight bulbs are good , and also the driving light bulbs, test for power at the connectors to those lights to.
You will need to do a little testing to find the problem.

Chevy Venture 99 low beams don't work but high beams always working

I would start with checking the headlight bulbs (slim to none possibility but starting point) next go to the headlight switch.

My headlights don't work, but the brights do. What caused this and how can I fix it?

Every headlamp has a bulb inside that has two filaments one for high beam and the other one for low beam, if any of those filament is cut then that beam (High or low) won't work. If your high beam work then your fuse it's ok, so you can visually inspect your headlights bulbs for broken filaments. remove bulb socket and remove the bulb carefully to inspect the filaments. if the filaments are atacched from one terminal to the other then the bulb it's ok, if not replace the bulb.

My headlights turned off on my 1998 chevy suburban i replaced headlight switch and i dont see any blown fuses

You might want to check the high/low beam switch, it can fail and take out both head lights if parking lights work but no head lights.
