The crankshaft position sensor on your vehicle goes through the engine block and is held by a single mounting bolt.
Disconnect the electrical connector.
Remove the mounting bolt securing the sensor to the engine block.
Using a "twisting back and forth" motion, remove the sensor from the engine block.
NOTE: it is common for these to be coated with carbon deposits that may cause them to stick and make them difficult to remove. Be careful to pull STRAIGHT out and use the twisting motion mentioned above, to avoid breaking the sensor off inside the engine block.
The crankshaft position sensor is located on the left side of the engine block near the oil filter.

How do i replace crank sensor on 2000 olds alero 3.4 and where is it located

It depends on which crank sensor you are wanting to replace. There are two of them. The 24X sensor is located behind the front crankshaft pully and the crank pully must be removed to change it. The 7X sensor is located in the engine block on the right bank (firewall side) near the rear of the engine. This one simply pulls out of the block after disconnecting the electrical connector and removing the single bolt that holds it.

Where is the crank shaft sensor located on a 2001 oldsmobile alero

on the 3.4 liter engine, it's behind the harmonic balancer--you have to remove the crankshaft pulley/balancer to see it.

if you have the 2.4 liter, it's just above the oil filter:

I have a 2001 Oldsmobile Alero. What does it mean when the anti brake light, service engine soon, and traction off light comes on at the same time?

I am assuming its not the service engine soon light it is probably the service vehicle soon light, There are 2 lights service vehicle soon upper left side, and service engine soon upper right side.

When all these come on at the same time it is the wheel bearing sensor. Usually the wheel bearing needs to be replaced which houses the sensor. A sure way to check is to press your sls button by your shifter and see if the light goes out, If it does not, u will need to have a wheel bearing put in.
