On 99 Cherokee Spor... there are 3 screws at the bottom to remove. Once removed, slide the bottom out to get past the stop tabs.

Bring the resistor &/or the pigtail (socket plug) to any reputable auto parts store & they should be able to match up a replacement pigtail.

you need to remove all the screws on the bottom of the glove box on the outside, then on the inside remove all the screws too. and then pull it out. sometimes some glove boxes have stoppers on the edge of the door inside and you have to pry on them to pull the stoppers in front of the side of the glove box so you can remove it entirely from the dash.

I forget when they changed body styles, but if your is still a WJ body, you pull the glove box out halfway, the reach under the dash lip, there are a couple of rubber bits that you hold back and the box will pivot the rest of the way out.

Try car dismantlers or scrapyard. Get the whole glove box door and it wil cost you much less then new one.
