MY 350Z ROADSTER HAD THE SAME PROBLEM CLOSED TOP ON SLANT CAUSING PROBLEMS W LATCH MECHANISM. IN THE THE RIGHTMOST LATCH IS A SWITCH WHICH NEEDS TO BE FULLY DEPRESSED BY THE END OF THE HOOK IF ITS NOT EVEN THOUGH EVERYTHING IS LOCKED LIGHT WILL STAY ON. IN MY CASE THE RUBBER COATING OVER HOOK HAD COME OFF. SOLUTION WAS TO INSTALL RUBBER SLEAVE OVER HOOK AND THE SWITCH WAS DEPRESSED AND LIGHT WOULD GO OFF.SWITCH OPERATES LIKE DOOR AJAR SWITCH. ALSO MY TOP HEAD TO BE SLIGHTLY REALIGNED TO CENTER LATCHES IN SLOT. ON THE INSIDE OF THE TOP WITH THE TOP HALF RAISED YOU CAN SEE TWO STOP ADJUSTMENTS ONE ON THE LEFT AND ONE ON THE RIGHT. THEY HAVE A ROUND RUBBER HEAD ABOUT AN INCH WIDE WITH AN ALLEN SCREW IN MIDDLE TURNING SCREW DETERMINES HOW FAR FORWARD O BACK THE TOP STOPS. AFTER ADJUSTING THE SCREW IS LOCKED INTO PLACE BY TIGHTENING NUT A BASE. MAKE SMALL ADJUSTMENTS TILL YOU GET THE HOOKS CENTERED. HOPES THIS HELPS SOMEONE.

The support bar right above your head has 2 elastic bands attached to it, one on the drivers side and one on the passenger side. After time they lose their elasticity and don't pull this bar (the one with the top attached to it) down when you retract. If it doesn't pull down, it will stay up (forward) as the frame retracts and get jammed up in the rest of the frame. Worst case it will pop the metal clip which holds the center of the cloth top to it (it is the length of the bar and spot welded to it) off. It will also put holes in your top on both sides as they don't fold down under and instead get crimped in the frame. Temp solution is to push that bar down as it retracts. Permanent solution is to repair the elastic sooner than later before it wrecks havoc with the whole frame and motor.

make sure your car is in park and that you have your foot on the break....if you release your foot it will stop. So keep your foot on until it is fully open or fully closed and the passenger seat has returned to where you had it set prior to opening or closing

THERES A SWITCH IN THE RIGHTMOST LATCH MECHANISM THE NEEDS TO BE COMPLETELY DEPRESSED FOR LIGHT TO GO OUT,LIKE YOU DOOR AJAR SWITCH. THE RUBBER AROUND THE HOOK HAD PEELED BACK SO SWITCH WASNT BEING DEPRESSED. WE PUT A RUBBER SLEEVE OVER HOOK AND NOW LIGHT IS OFF. ALSO IF SOMEONES TOP DOESNT PROPERLY ALIGHN WITH LOCKING MECHANISM THERE ARE TWO STOPS ON THE FRAME THAT DETERMINE HOW FAR FORWARD O BACK THE TOP STOPS. THERE A SCREW WITH A ROUND RUBBER HEAD WITH AN ALLEN SCREW IN MIDDLE OF RUBBER HEAD. LOCK DOWN THE ADJUSTMENT WI NUT A BASE. HOPE THIS HELPS SOMEONE OUT THERE WITH THESE PROBLEMS
