I recently tried the DIY service and repair manuals from a website and it actually helped me repair transmission problem in my jcb 3cx site-master. It would'nt move forward or reverse, engine was good both solenoids for forward and reverse worked, but still couldn't diagnose the problem.
I don't have much technical knowledge but I just followed it step-wise, and now it works perfect!
covers wiring, codes, diagrams, torque specs, PCV, everything
got it from www.reliable-store.com

SOURCE: audi timing belt

It's a complicated job, and usually takes about 8 hours to do the full service if you're familiar with the car's mechanicals, you have a good array of tools (air tools help a lot), you're familiar with what you're doing, and with how to disassemble everything (including removing the front of the car - I'm not joking). There's more to the job than just the belt too - you need to replace the timing belt, timing tensioner, water pump, thermostat, serpentine belt, and serpentine tensioner. If your cam seals are leaking (which is also known to happen), you'd need those and plan for a couple more hours as well, due to the care that must be taken not to scratch or score the cam end caps.

SOURCE: fuse box in a audi a6 1995

Fuses are located by the side of the dash board when you open the driver's door. The fuel pump fuse is situated in there.

SOURCE: how do i change time on clock on 2005 audi a6 quattro s line

I think I can help you. I just did this on mine yesterday because my clock runs a few minutes fast each month. It was somewhere bizarre - sorry I'm not near the car to be more clear. I think I picked Sound, Settings and for some odd reason, it was there, rather than in Car, Settings. NOOO - it was in Tuning - click the AM/FM button, then Settings. I've only had it for a few months, but you'd think I'd have that one figured out due to re-setting it.

SOURCE: 99' Audi A6 2.8 Q no brakes, low to no pedal pressure...

Not likely the ABS pump there is something wrong with the mechanical brakes it sounds like the emergency brake is not adjusted try adjusting the rear cable first then pull the emergency brake and push your foot on the brake if it is still to the floor you have a problem with a cylinder or a mechanical adjustment, if it's higher with the E brake on then you have the adjusters not set right and the cables not adjusted, So adjust the cables first. If the brakes are spongy with the engine off then it will need to be power bleed if that does not fix it then you may have the wrong brake shoes or pads on the car. Did you install the plates in the wheel rotor front braes? If not you lose 1/4 inch travel on the from pads, if the basic brakes are not right the ABS side is not going to be right so those problems have to be dealt with first. Also DO YOU HAVE A POWER ASSIST BOOSTER IF SO IT COULD BE BAD, TO TEST HAVE SOMEONE STEP ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AND PULL THE HOSE OFF THE BRAKE BOOSTER IT'S behind the master cylinder (sorry for the caps) if you don't here a suction sound when you remove the hose then you have a bad heck valve by the booster connected to the hose that plugs into the booster. if all of this is ok then it may be the ABS booster but normally its a bleeding problem. write a comment if this does not help or you need another lead,

SOURCE: abs and brake light is flashing on my 99 audi a6

If you need to repair the brake module, there is a fantastic article, complete with photos, at http://www.audiworld.com/tech/elec116.shtml

I followed this example for my '98 and now it works perfectly. I found a shop on eBay to rebuild my module (lifetime warranty) for under $200. It took me about 1 hour to pull it off and about 45 min to put it back on with minimum shop tools

An owners manual is always a good thing to have. I would contact a local dealership and have them order an owner's manual for you as well.

Audi A6 2005 wond start

If you have headlights and dash warning lights but no crank, it could be a problem with the starter, key switch or the neutral safety switch, or the anti-theft system.
If you don't have lights it could be the battery or a cable problem.

What does a warning symbol showing a circle w/an x in it mean on a 99 Audi A6

  • Hi, I can help.

  • On that year Audi (A6) the only two lights that would illuminate on your dash will either be for the brake light (top image in the diagram) or a headlight or tail light is out (bottom part of the diagram. So basically have a look at your lights, one of them is out.

  • No other lights on your dash have an "X" on them when illuminated.

Headlights

If you are only changing the bulbs, on the back of the headlight assembly, you'll see two metal retainers that hold the rear cover to the assembly.  Pop those outward from the headlight, and the rear cover will be loose.  Pull back on it, and you'll see the bulbs.  Turn the retainer counter-clockwise, and it will pull off, allowing you to remove the bulb.  Installation is the reverse of removal.
