This is pretty easy...you can do this! Open the trunk, lean in and you can see the wires leading to the tail light, it is the far left wires for the left signal and the far right wires for the right tail light. Grasp the socket that the wires are connected to, twist, and the socket comes out with the bulb. Take the bulb to the store and buy another one.

Better yet, the folks at Autozone will actually help you replace bulbs when you buy one there and it's as quick as this to replace...good luck...Chris

95 k1500 tail lamps dont work. turn signal and brake lights works. fuses good, bulbs new, and tail light circuit boards new.

test the wires to see if power reaches the tail light, connect a test light to the wire and the chassis, if there is power present on the wire for the tail light the problem is the bulb or the tail light unit, but if there isnt any power you have to backtrace the wire to locate the problem, probably a broken or loose wire

Brake lights dont work untill i turn the lights on, then stay on

Hi, are the tail lights and the brake lights in the same light unit?
If so, there is a possibility the bulbs are in the wrong way. If it is a stop/tail bulb then there are two locating pegs on the side of the metal part. If you look, one is higher than the other which has to locate into the correct slot in the holder.

Another possibility is the bulb is wrong, there are double and single contacts. Check the contact on the base of the bulb is the same as the contacts in the holder.
