Hi This sounds like a DSC fault more than anything, have you any fault codes? have you fitted anything new to your vehicle recently that is made by someone other than BMW?, you could try unplugging the DSC unit and having a look at the plug for corrosion on the contacts, ( this is the same as ABS module located on left hand side near head light on normal car under bonnet/hood should be same for yours) also you can have a look at the throttle body connector for same thing corrosion on the contacts, just clean and see how that goes, but check to see if you have error codes in the ECU/ECM just something for you to look at please contact me for anything else...good luck
You have a Bad ABS sensor. This wil cause all of your symptoms. The brake light will come on, the ABS light, and the DSC because it needs th ABS system as well. You can go to the dealership to if out which one or replace them all. They are expensive. Did you do any work on one of the wheels directly before this issue? If so, replace the abs sensor on that wheel.
Hello and welcome to FixYa!
As
a first course of action, I strongly suggest that you remove the
positive battery connector and let it sit for at least 5mins. before
reconnecting it. This will reset the system and can get your vehicle
back to it's normal operation.
Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!
