WHEN PARKING BRAKE LEVER WHEN PROPERLY ADJUSTED SHOULD TRAVEL THREE TO FIVE CLICKS,BLOCK THE FRONT WHEELS RAISE THE REAR OF THE VECHICLE AND SUPPORT VECHICLE ON JACK STANDS MAKE SURE VECHICLE PARKED ON SOLID LEVEL GROUND.REMOVE THE REAR WHEELS THEN TURN STAR WHEEL OR KNURL ADJUSTER UNTIL BRAKE SHOES LOCK THE DRUM MEANING YOU CANT TURN IT.THEN BACK OFF THE ADJUSTMENT UNTIL THE DRUM CAN JUST TURN FREELY WITH OUT ANY DRAG.OKAY TO HAVE A SLIGHT AMOUNT OF DRAG.

If you have a handbrake,,,,, I believe that the adjstment is at the bottom of the lever. Also if you have Drum brakes on the rear, It is possible you are due for a brake job. Have it inspected.

You need to knock out the access hole in the backing plate . Not and easy job. If it just quit working the shoes have most likely separated from the linings and need to be replaced.

Important: Before you adjust the park brake cable tension, verify that the park brake shoes are adjusted to provide a clearance of 0.6604 mm (0.026 in) and the rear disc brake rotors are installed.
