This year doen't use a separate sensor for the cooling fans, it uses the ECT (engine coolant temp sensor) sensor that monitors engine temperature for the fuel control system, the computer turns the fans (via a relay) on when the engine reaches about 225-230 Degrees F

Sir, my 1996 Chevy Lumina with a 3.1 engine, gets

there is a coolant temperature sensor in the system ( normally in the vicinity of the top radiator hose /thermostat. It activates a relay that switches on the fans--normally around 85 degrees c. Check both fuse and the relay for correct operation. The sensor unit will be squarish with 2 wires in the connector.

1995 chevy lumina what turns a radiator fans on

All electric..thermostatic switches. When the coolant gets too hot a switch is tripped that fires up the fans. There is a mechanical valve too, it directs hot coolant away from engine.

Make sure your cooling fan is coming on ,if you force the ac on that should make the fan come on after a minute or so if the fan comes on with the ac the problem is either the coolant sensor or the fan motor is going bad

Were is the fan clutch for the radiator on a 97 chevy lumina

It does not have a fan clutch,it has a electric fan,the cooling fan comes on when it gets to a certain temp, the engine that is,and that is about 215 degrees to 219 degrees, and if the ac is turned on,the cooling fans will come on.

The radiator fan in chevy lumina apv 90 start at high temp, what can i do to calibrate it, at lower temp.?

You can try replacing the engine coolant temp sensor, it may be off a bit.
Ask your Chevy dealer service writer if there is a service bulletin for a reflash of the engine computer which controls when the fan comes on based on info from the temp sensor.

On my 1992 chevy lumina neither one of the cooling fans will come on

Make sure the fuse is not blown,or cooling fan relays are not bad. Then check the cooling system to make sure the system is full.If it is low,the coolant sensor will not sense anything,it has to be emerged in coolant to sense. If all this checks out, replace the coolant sensor, for this sensor,is the most likely cause for the problem.
