I have a 2006 Saturn Vue, the timing chain went and slamned the valves, so I had the head redone, valves replaced. My question is, I have one cylinder that wont fire - I replaced the ICM, the coil pack, plugs. I still have the problem, I think it may be a bad spark plug boot, I moved the boot to another cylinder and the problem followed. Is this common?

SOURCE: how to preform a tune-up on my 2009 Saturn Vue

It has a maintenance recomendation from the manufacturer for replacement of the spark-plugs at 100,000 miles. You don't list mileage or V6 or L4 cylinder. Make sure engine is cold because the cylinder heads are aluminum and can be damaged if plugs are removed hot or overtightened upon reassembly. Remove spark-plug wires and replace spark-plugs. Sometimes the wires break when you remove them and will require replacement. If you coat the inside of the wires where they connect with the plugs with dielectric grease it will help prevent the wires from breaking upon future disassembly.

Polo 1.4 clp motor keeps bending Valves

If the pistons are hitting the valves the engine is either out of time or there isn't enough clearance between the valves and pistons. If the head has been milled flat due to warpage, it is very possible that the valves are now too close to the piston. You will need either a thicker head gasket or pistons with releaf cuts to make room. But since they have already made contact, your going to need new valves at minimum.

Bent lifter 2006 Saturn vue

Well, the lifters are metal cylinders that use a spring and fluid to push on the valves, so I doubt it is bent.
What you probably have is a bent intake or exhaust valve.
If that is the case, the cylinder head would have to be removed to replace the valve.

I can't locate where the spark plugs are for a 2006 saturn vue,4cy.Could you tell me where they are located?

They are located in the head.To gain access you need to remove the cover on top of the engine and unplug the ignition module once these are removed the plugs are in the cylinder head and accessible with a 5/8 spark plug socket and extension. Some ecotechs have an additional plastic cover that need removed before you can access the coil cover and ignition module.

When is timing belt supposed to be changed?

2006 Saturn Vue with a 3.5L engine V-6, Saturn recommends replacing timing belt every 100,000 miles, also replace water pump, due to it is timing belt driven, this is an interference engine which piston to valve damage will occur in the event of timing belt failure.Hope this was very helpful.
