The post is shared by water pump and something. Do you know what that is and how to remove it? That is the only thing preventing from removing the water pump, pump moves freely but is blocked by a piece of metal.

It may be the air pump, used on some models for emission control. You have to remove the pump and the bracket that holds it. See procedure at link below.

SOURCE: Remove Dash On 1988 Camaro IROC

You do not have to remove any part of the dash at all! All you have to do is use a socket wrench from the front of the box with an extension over the top of the box. There is even a dip in the box at this point that may have been designed to make it more accessable. I have a 1988 Camaro and removed this impossible to reach 5th bolt by using a 9/32 socket and an extension or two to get the right lengths and a universal joint for easy manouvering. My son helped by holding the socket on the bolt while I did the unscrewing. It helps to have a good variety of socket wrench extensions and a universal joint and a skinny arm to get behind the box. The fifth bolt is about 3" in from the upper right bolt. Same size bolt as the other 4.

SOURCE: fix rearaxle 97 camaro

It should have a bolt through a pin holding it in place inside the diff cover. Remove the cover, find the small bolt going through the pin, remove the bolt and pin, and push inward on the axle from the hub. The retainer clip should fall, allowing you to pull the axle shaft out.
Good luck!

Put car in neutral, remove wheels, calipers and rotors, diff. cover. rotate carrier until you see wrist pin retaining bolt, remove bolt and slide out the wrist pin out of carrier. Next push axle inward to remove inner axle "C" retainer washer then slide axle out of tube. Then pry off axle seal and with slide hammer w/attachment remove axle bearing.

I am wondering how difficult it may be to replace the water pump in a 1996 chevy camaro z28 ??

Aside from the space you have to work in it is not hard at all. Some bolts and hoses and an electrical connection. The accessory brackets stay because the pump is right between them. Unlike the early days before serpentine belt system where the brackets would attach to the pump as well.
But while you're in there, since the LT1 has the distributer behind the pump, you might consider repacing the cap, rotor and wires.

I need to change the fuel pump on a1995 chevy camaro z28

The fuel pump is part of the fuel sender assembly located inside the fuel tank.
  1. Release the fuel system pressure and disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Drain the fuel tank, then raise and safely support the vehicle.
  3. Remove the fuel tank from the vehicle.
  4. Clean the area surrounding the sender assembly to prevent contamination of the fuel system.
  5. To remove the fuel sender from the tank, remove the fuel sender assembly nuts and retaining ring. Carefully remove the sending unit from the fuel tank. Discard the O-rings.
  6. If necessary, separate the fuel pump from the sending unit assembly.
To install:
  1. If removed, install the fuel pump to the sending unit. If the strainer was removed, it must be replaced with a new one.
  2. Inspect and clean the O-ring mating surfaces.
  3. Install a new O-ring in the groove around the tank opening. If applicable, install a new O-ring on the fuel sender feed tube.
  4. Install the fuel sender assembly as follows:
    1. The fuel pump strainer must be in a horizontal position, and when installed, must not block the travel of the float arm. Gently fold the strainer over itself and slowly position the sending assembly in the tank so the strainer is not damaged or trapped by the sump walls.

  5. Install the retaining ring and nuts, then tighten the nuts to 63 inch lbs. (7 Nm).
  6. Install the fuel tank assembly.
  7. Lower the vehicle.
  8. Fill the fuel tank, tighten the fuel filler cap and connect the negative battery cable.
  9. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position for 2 seconds, OFF for 10 seconds, then back to the ON position. Check for fuel leaks.

1995 BUICK PARK AVENUE Water pump replacement

Hi,

Here is how you do it step by step;

STEP 1. Loosen the bolts on the water pump flywheel then remove the belt.

STEP 2. Take a oil-pan length 2x4 and use it in betwen jack and oil pan and jack up engine almost so that steering pump fluid cover on top side almost hits cross bar.

STEP 3 Remove the center bolt of the motor mount holding the two halves of the mount together.

STEP 4 Remove two bolts and one nut on the engine side mount. Remove 4 bolts (2 on top and two hidden on side) of the bolts holding the mount to the frame.

STEP 5. Now take a big 2x4 and wedge it so as to move the engine to the driver side of the compartment. At the same time rotate and move the mount piece on the engine side rotating about the stud [that the nut came off of]so as to paritally split apart the two mount halves. You'll see that you can now get at the two hidden bolts.

SEP 6. Remove the water pump pulley wheel. There are a bunch of small and little bolts in the water pump...some on bottom side.

STEP 7 Remove them and old pump and Scrape off old gasket.

STEP 8. Apply new gasket and sealer to new pump and reverse order to install.

Good luck..

How to replace a wiper arm on 1998 chevy camaro Z28

i dont remember exactly on camaros, but if you dont see a nut on the wiper arm, then there is a plastic cap covering it. remove that with a screwdriver by prying off gently. and loosen the nut almost all the way off. now wiggle the wiper arm back and forth and up and down.. you might need a screw driver to pry from underneath with slight force. wiper arms are tricky. make sure you put it in the exact position you took it off from. sometimes you have to turn the wipers on and shut off the key to stop them if the hood is in the way,
