I did the exact same thing. Open the little black fusible link box right close to the battery, mounted on the side. Pull the black one out & smell it, mine was burnt out.. I went to a salvage yard today purchased one, hope it works. They melt to prevent damage to the wiring harness & electronic fuel inj & equipment.

Check your fuses. You probably just blew a fuse. Worst case scenario would be your ECU is burned out, which is highly likely if the fuse didn't blow quick enough.

The intermittent feature of the windshield wipers does not work. I have a 1985 Nissan 300ZX. If I remove and replace the windshield motor assy, will this solve the problem?

Not likely. That feature is built-in to the stalk switch. I'd look for another switch (ebay, etc) or go to a local Used Car parts (salvage yard / U Pull) and get one.Very likely that other Nissans from that year used the same switch - doesn't have to be from a 300ZX. Good luck.

1985 nissan 300zx has start signal failure how do you repair the problem

Start signal comes from the clutch engagement switch. When you press the clutch the pedal arm hits a switch and signals the motor to be able to start. Look and see if you have a little rubber piece pushed through a hole on the clutch pedal arm

Instrument cluster

Under the dash (I'm asuming you have s digital dash), if you look under there close to where the console ends, you will see a kind of goldish colored box about 4 inch or so square (I think it's square,
I haven't worked on one in a long time with that problem) There should be another box to the left of that, I am only giving you a reference point so you know you are in the correct area. Anyway, the smaller box is the power supply to the digitsl dash. If that goes bad, the dash won't light up. The symptoms typically are that part of the dash may work for a little while and then the whole thing goes out. All you can do is replace it. They are hard to find in a salvage yard and then you are takeing a chance.I hope I have answered your question. I'm sure I have solvdd some problems out there for a few people.

Hooked my battery up backwards in my nissan 300zx 1984 model fried my computer, got it fixed placed it in car kicks over perfectly but i have no electrics dash lights headlamps gauges etc, but i do have...

You blew a fuse. Im guessing most likely culprit is a fusible link. try both sides of fusible links found by your battery. both sides should show your approximate battery voltage. check all fuses especially ones that show power regardless of the ignition switch being on or off.

What dash light sensor looks like a 4 car garage? and what does it mean? my car is a 1985 300zx non turbo

That's the dummy light for the radiator or cooling system. If it comes on during normal running operation, it's indicating that the coolant is low or hot, and likely overheated already.

Electric seats will only go one way

You need to check for power at the motor when you try to activate the switch. If there's power then you have a drive cable issue. If this is a manual seat then the problem is the actuator assembly itself, the cable, mechanism, etc. Remove the seat & take a good look at it. You'll see a problem, write back.
