2000 Toyota Land Cruiser having on and off trouble starting, Similar to previous post. Had batery, alternator and starter tested on the vehicle and was told the starter was bad so I pulled the starter but the bench test at auto parts store passed it 4 of 4 times. Everyone there said check the battery terminals but all the connections look fine. Thoughts? Next steps/test? Hat eto put it all back together just yet if there is an issue to address. I am no pro so took me several hours to pull the manifold etc to get to the starter.

Starter problems are very common on these V-8 engines, even though it may test good on the bench it doersn't mean it's going to work in the engine everytime since the becch test doesn't have the load of turning the engine, I would not trust this starter in this case because of all the work involved in removing it again.

My 2000 Toyota Landcruiser won't start evn after a

What gauge jumper cables are you using? May need a larger set. My mustang wouldn't jump on anything more than 6ga.
Are lights coming on at all? Does the engine make any noise when attempting to start?
Could be an elecreical drain somewhere.
Could be a fuel pump. Does it get fuel?
You need more info with your question.

The engine wont start in the morning but it takes 2 mins to jump it and will start first time all day.

If your vehicle is petrol powered, something, most likely the starter motor, is drawing too much current and robbing the ignition circuit. Oce started the engine will continue to start all day long, untill next morning. Have the starter motor checked out & make sure your engine oil is not too heavy for your climate too. It would be an idea to have your battery discharge rate tested while you're at it.

I need instructions on how to replace the starter on a 2000 Toyota Land Cruiser

[Get the Flash Player] function launchVid(flashVars) { var s1 = new SWFObject('http://www.delmarlearning.com/webservices/delmedia/JWPlayer/Default/player.swf','ply','400','300','9','blue'); s1.addParam('allowscriptaccess', 'always'); s1.addParam('allowfullscreen', 'true'); s1.addParam('flashvars', flashVars); s1.write('vidPlayer'); $.scrollTo('#vidPlayer', 1000); } On all engines except the 2UZ-FE, the starter is external, mounted in a conventional manner, alongside the engine block. One the 2UZ-FE, however, the starter is mounted in the 'V' of the engine, between the cylinder head banks. The entire intake manifold assembly must be removed to access the starter motor and solenoid. (Toyota calls the solenoid a "magnetic switch.")
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2. Drain the cooling system.
  3. Relieve the fuel system pressure.
  4. Remove or disconnect the following:
    • Negative battery cable
    • Engine appearance cover
    • Air intake tube
    • Intake manifold
    • Starter motor mounting bolts
    • Starter wiring connectors
    • Starter motor
To install:
  1. Install or connect the following:
    • Starter motor
    • Starter wiring connectors. Tighten the cable nut to 86 inch lbs. (10 Nm).
    • Starter motor mounting bolts. Tighten the bolts to 29 ft. lbs. (39 Nm).
    • Intake manifold
    • Air intake tube
    • Engine appearance cover
    • Negative battery cable
  2. Fill the cooling system.
  3. Start the engine and check for leaks.
