You will need to change the bulb and the socket assembly for the bulb.. The connector melts the contacts to the bulb burning out the connection to the bulb to the socket.. this is common part that we change

Alpha Romeo 156 My Left hand indicator light stays on continually, does not flash. and when I turn the hazard light switch on both indicators continually glow.

Generally speaking, symptoms of a bad or failing turn signal bulb are usually the culprit...in your case, either it's the front left or rear bulb. Varies for different vehicle makes...common signs include:
  1. turn signal light staying on solid
  2. or blinking very fast
  3. or either sides of the bulbs stop blinking altogether.
To test this, make sure you reconnect everything you disconnected.
Turn the left signal light on; go to the front of the vehicle, is the turn signal bulb illuminated? If it lights up, even though it is not blinking obviously the bulb is okay. If it doesn't, replace it- problem solved. You'll do the same procedure for the rear turn signal Is that lit up? If not replace the bulb and the problem is solved.
Another common failure is when the turn signal blinks really fast, same procedure as mentioned above.
If both bulbs for the left side and right side illuminate but don't blink, the problem is in the steering column turn signal switch.
If the left or right side blinkers don't work properly at all...then check the integrated hazard warning/turn signal flasher relay- that may be defective; again, that's usually the case if both sides of the signal light don't work.
If you are blowing any fuses related to the flasher system, you have an electrical overload in the turn signal circuitry.

1997 Dodge Neon left signal lights work great. Right side blinks very fast.

Has the car been in a fender bender ? check for wiring going to the front and rear lights to see if on has rubbed into a ground wire or the body. ( even if there has been no accident.)

Turn signals do not flash left or right...bulbs front and rear all ok......flashes during hazard ....is this a fuse issue, flasher fuse or turn signal switch in steering column or what else?

If the lights illuminate but don't flash it is very likely a bad flasher relay causing your concern. It's usually located above the drivers footwell area. It looks like a small metal can with two or three terminals. They are available at just about any parts store for under $10.

How do I fix my left blinker? light still works but it sticks instead of blinks

What you speak of as to the left blinker doesn't flash, yet the instrument cluster shows the green arrow (to the left), and yet that and the left turn signal lights do not flash, appears to be a simple burned out bulb. If one of your left turn signal bulbs are burnt out, then the #552 Flasher Unit in your fuse box is NOT the cause. It's the "Amperage" not being correct to the flasher unit. Place the parking brake on and start your vehicle. Put the left turn signal on and check to see ALL the bulbs are illuminated for the left turn signal. If you find one bulb that is not illuminated, then replace the bulb. It should be an 1157 bulb, but in the front it could be a 1157 Amber bulb dependent on whether your turn signal lens is clear or yellow.

If you still have difficulty finding the dead bulb, turn on the right turn signal and see which bulbs are illuminated and this will give you an idea as to which bulb on the left side isn't working, or turn on your Emergency Flashers which will turn on both the left and right side lamps and see which bulb is not lit up.

I hope this Helps,

Turn signal doesnt flash when turned on???

If your turn signal indicator is coming on but won't flash, it is caused by one of two things.
  1. A burned out bulb (or a bad circuit to the bulb)
Check ALL the bulbs. Does it flash in one direction and not the other? The side that is not flashing will have a bulb that is not working. It may be a front bulb or a rear bulb, so check them all. Also make sure that there are the same number of bulbs illuminating on both sides. Some cars have 2 turn signal bulbs on each side in the rear. At first glance it may look like they are all working, then when you look closer you may find that only one bulb is illuminating on one side while there are two on the other.

2. If both sides are malfunctioning and you are certain that all the bulbs that are supposed to light with the turn signals are working, then replace your flasher unit.

No brake lights of blinkers 1990 dodge dynasty

While not likely, it is possible that the light bulbs in both sides are have bad filaments. Turn on ignition key (but don't start engine). Then turn on parking lamps (first detent or "click" on headlamp switch). Walk around car and look for illumination on front parking lamps and rear tail lights. Turn on the right turn signal. Are those (right hand) lamps now changing brilliance? Try the left turn signal in the same manner. Are those (left hand) front and rear lights changing briiliance? Take note of any positions that did NOT change briliance when the turn signals were activated. If NONE changed briliance, you either have a bunch of bad bulbs (unlikely) or a bad flasher (more likely) or a bad turn signal switch (most likely) or perhaps wiring problems (possible if the car has been in a collision or has been "worked on" by some "non-expert" mechanic). Check the action of the emergency flasher control switch located on the steering column (facing up). Pushing it in (down) should result in the button going to two different heights alternately (low, high, low, high). You could just have bad flashers or corroded flasher contacts! Good luck!
