There is a 98% chance it is your electric heat pump. Because Jaguar uses the closed water circulation method. Now the heat pump primary function is to supply or pump coolant to the heater core at low rpms or at idle. Once the heat pump fails it can actually block or significantly slow the flow of your coolant. I have fixed around 20 Jaguars with heat related problems ( xjr,xj8,x-types,s-type) all had a bad or very dirty heat pump. 5 of them i was able to clean the rest had to be replaced. Note... a bad heat pump can create a back pressure which in turn force or push coolant out at the connection (a small 3 way coupler) located at the bottom of the coolant reservoir tank given you the appearance of coolant leak. I mean you will have a coolant leak but once you replace the heat pump the coolant leak at that coupler will stop. Also back pressure can stop the coolant flow blowing your intake manifold or head gaskets.

I have a jaguar type x 2002 and its not properly heating any suggestions????? Also when i drive on the freeway the steering wheel starts to shake a lot

Balance the tire and wheel assemblies with a dynamic spin balancer. and check to make sure neither is bent and check rotors and pads to see if there is any heat indicators like bluing of the rotors, spalling or surface cracks, shiny spots on the pads. If there is, flush the brake lines with new fluid.

Lack of heating may be thermostat stuck partially open all of the time, thermostat controlled fans meay be running when they should not be- may be a fused relay contact or defective temp sensor. If engine reaches oeprating temp and no heat in cabin, check to make there is no air bubble caught in the heater hoses. If you do not have flushing tee on the upper heater hose, adding one will allow you to purge the air- start engine cold, and crack open the cap to let air out. Let engine aproach operating temp, hold upper hose as high as you can to collect the air, and crack cap open again until no bubbles appear, use care as the coolant is hot at that point. Only shut engien down once cap is tight again.

2000 Jaguar S type 3.0 Blows only cold air on full heat. Just replaced heater control valve with no change. Also flushed and replaced thermostat. Car operating temperaure is fine. Both heater hoses are...

Check the little pump below the brake booster for running and the coolant valve for movement.

Both hoses to fire wall should be hot.

Check for air lock in system.

Blend doors on this vehicle stop working....common complaint.

To verify Blend door movement, turn on ignition with engine off.

Run temp to max and the min..... listen under glove box for ( sliding ) motor noise as door swings from hot to cold.

This is a digital system needing a Jaguar scanner for diagnosis.

02 Jaguar S Type - Heater blowing cold air

Has the vehicle overheated recently, if not there is a failure of the Coolant from engine valve controller, that measures flow through the Heater Matrix. Come back with more, as necessary.
