2004 freestar alarm system works on/off again. It is the small round security fob. New bateries don't seem to make a difference. The van will sometimes not start and has left me in a bad position more than once. Can I disconnect the alarm and still be able to start the car and not worry about being left on the side of the road? Thank you

SOURCE: my 2004 ford freestar van is hesitating going down

most likely not the fuel filter- try plugs and wires... could be a number of things, if the vehicle runs fine while in park and doesnt hesitate, most likely is sprk plugs and wires or a transmission problem...

The alarm will sound while in reverse if it senses a problem with the reverse sensing system.

SOURCE: 2005 Ford Freestar Limited Van. Driver's

Hello and welcome to FixYa!

The door sensor surely is worn out. It's the little button that the door hits when shut close. If it's worn out it may trigger that it's open even if it's closed that's why the chime goes on. I strongly suggest that you replace the door sensor to resolve the problem.

Try putting some padding too on the slide door so that when the door hits the sensor it will be pushed. That is if you like the idea and not spending for the door sensor.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

The panic alarm will not shut off

Pop open your key fob with a knife and if it don;t shut off i would be surprized. The rubber sometimes cracks and allows foreign matter to cause the buttons to stick. If that dont work take the round watch battery out that way you will know if it is in the fob and not something in the van.

Alarm goes off with ignition on. Dash lights work so there is power but nothing at the starter motor

Sounds like the security system is armed. It is designed to disable the starter. If you don't have a key fob for the alarm, try locking and un-locking the driver's door with the key to disarm. If that doesn't work, look for a very small black button or toggle switch that will either be taped to wiring under the driver's side or the dash, or mounted to the very bottom of the dash above the driver's legs.

How to reset key fob for 2004 freestar

I found this description and it worked for the replacement fobs I bought on eBayhttp://www.ehow.com/how_6011089_reset-key-fob-ford-freestar.html.
I screwed up by not obtaining additional keys before I lost set # 2. You need two working keys to program the vehicle to accept new keys.

When i try to start me 2008 sonata the alarm goes off and the engine will not turn over. what can i do?

Your Sonata is equipped with a "Keyless Entry & Burglar Alarm" system. When the Burglar Alarm is activated, it KILLS the starting system through the used of a relay called the "Burglar Alarm Relay". This mode prevents engine starting with the key.
Solution #1
Disarm the system with the Keyless Remote (key fob) If you don't have this remote (or its battery is dead) replace the battery & try disarming again.
Solution #2
Enter the vehicle & insert the key in the ignition and turn the ignition switch to 'RUN'. Wait 3 to 5 minutes until the alarm stops. You should then be able to start the engine.

Have a qualified/certified Hyundai Service Technician properly diagnose this issue.

Removed the old orfice tube in a 04 Freestar van and cannot get the new one in even while useing ac oil. I also checked the old one with the new one and they are the same, so I don't believe that is the...

Take a file,a round file and file inside of the tube(ac line)all around, there is part of the o ring still in there stuck to the walls of the ac line, hard to see them, but they are there, file all around untill the orifice tube fits, use the oil,and turn the orifice tube at different ways, but, make sure you are inserting the correct end in the ac line,if this was helpful, please rate, thank you.
