1 Disconnect the battery before doing any repair work on the car. This can prevent an injury to you and damage to your car's electrical system. Step2 Remove the steering wheel, instrument cluster, glove box, air vents and all remaining screws/panels on the dash. Unplug any connections to the instrument cluster and remove it completely. Also, remove trim pieces on the A-pillar running from the dash up to the ceiling along the windshield. Step3 Take the dashboard out slowly and carefully. Remove any bolts or screws still holding it in place. Be careful to not break any plastic tabs or parts that remain inside the car. Use a flathead screwdriver to help remove the dashboard. Step4 Lay the old dash face down next to the new dash. There may be parts that need to be taken from the old dash and used on the new dash. Some clips and brackets can be reused. Remove the vehicle identification number (VIN) tag and screw it in place on the new dashboard. Step5 Fit the new dashboard into the car. Having someone to help at this stage makes the installation easier. Carefully fit the dashboard in position and slide it into place. Step6 Assemble the dashboard in the reverse steps of disassembly. Fit the air ducts back into the dash, replace bolts and screws, glove box, air vents, instrument cluster and steering wheel. Remember to connect plugs back into the instrument cluster before screwing it into place. Step7 Connect the battery and test everything to make sure it works. Test the radio, lights, air, heat and instrument panel.

I have a 2004 Chrysler 300M. I want to replace the headlight control switch. What is the easiest way to remove old switch from dashboard?

This may sound silly, but when I have issues like this, I go to the local junk yard and find my vehicle. I can do basically what ever I need to do and not worry about messing up my car. you can pull things apart and if you goof, no one cares. Pretty cool I think and you get to learn from mistakes on someone else car.

My dashboard gauges ,odometer keep going off in my 1999 Chrysler town and country

Probably caused by a crack in the dashboard circuit board close to where it connects to the wiring. A good shop can probably find and resolder the crack, or you can pick up a used one at a junk yard, hopefully it will not also be cracked. I've had that happen in several Dodge caravans around that year.

Where I can get the plastic panels for the dashboard of a 2005 F-150?

Either the dealer or a junk yard. They will be a lot cheaper at the junk yard.

The heater fan quit working. How do I replace the fan?

Did you check if you are getting voltage to the fan motor? There is a small circuit board located near the fan motor (under the dashboard, passenger side) I have had 2 escorts and both had the circuit boards go bad. you can get one cheap at a junk yard

How can I fix my gas meter needle in my Chevrolet Venture 2003 ?

Hard to diagnose. If it is the sending unit, you need to remove the fuel tank and replace the sending unit/fuel pump. If it is the gauge on the dashboard, it is best to get a new gauge from a junk yard.

My headlights will not come on

I would start troubleshooting: bulbs, fuses, wiring, socket and connectors, switch...

Do parking lights come on?
On same switch but different connectors, there is fog light button and dimmer for dashboard illumination -- do these work?

If not, then likely bad switch.

Of course, I recommend getting replacement switch part in junk yard... used OEM part is far cheaper than after-manufacture part and very easy to remove/install.

Anyone else care to respond with more accurate information?

Good Luck!
