Hi
Sometimes, if a compressor fails i have fitted a shorter belt and changed the belt run.
It rwall depends on the car, your experience and the time you have to check the run and work out the new belt size.
All pulleys must rotate the correct way
The short answer is no. You may be able to measure the length of a belt that does not go around the ac compressor and buy that belt, but chances are you won't be able to route the belt to bypass the compressor and keep it tight.
DID YOU REPLACE THE BELT COULD BE A LITTLE WORN WHEN AC COMES ON IT PUTS TOO MUCH STRAIN ON BELT THEN IT SLIPS. OR YOU GOT A BUM ALTERNATOR OR BATTERY.TAKE IT TO AUTOZONE THEY WILL PUT ON THE MACHINE FOR FREE .
If its a 2.7L you can bypass the AC with no problem. Did it to mine 6 months ago. Left compressor in place. Little hard to find right belt because all sebrings have AC. Went to napa bought 5 took the other 4 wrong ones back. LOL
