The problem is in the ignition cylinder lock. The body control module (BCM) is what controls the theft deterrent system on the 2000 Pontiac Sunfire. It can be reprogrammed, but is complex to do.

The most likely answer is that your vehicle's door pin switches aren't working. When you open the driver's door, does your dome light turn on? Your radio works with the vehicle's data bus to stay on until the door is opened; if the system can't tell that the door has been opened, then it won't turn off. The door pin switch should be mounted at the front of the door opening.
under your battery tray, you will see a big red knob, remove the knob using a funnel add tranny fluid until you can physically see it in the tranny

That is a warning light that comes on when you get low on antifreeze. You will see your reservior on the left where you add coolant. You can just buy some 50/50 mix from the store, and add it. You may want to do some investigation to see where you may have lost some coolant. Make sure you add some though. Hope that helps.
I had the same problem the day after having my drivers side window motor replaced. The brain surgen who replaced the motor didn't notice the door lock/unlock switch didn't work when he put the door back togeather. Bypassing it until they got another switch the next day solved the problem
