Aren't you way out ahead of yourself there?

Your replacing electronic modules when you
haven't even diagnosed the issues

Do you have any knowledge what so ever about what
your referring to?

Have you hooked the car to a professional scan tool to look
at data pertaining to the various check lights?

Can leaky shocks on a 2006 Cadillac DTS cause the traction control light to come on

If the light is on there are DTC'S - diagnostic trouble code's stored in ABS - anti - lock brakes computer . Have codes checked first , something wrong with electrical part of antilock brakes , I know, what does ABS have to do with traction control ! traction control is a function of the ABS control module . Leaking shocks ? clarify , air shocks etc.... Before you start guessing , have it check for codes .
This vehicle is equipped with the TRW 440 V antilock braking system.
The vehicle is equipped with the following braking systems:
?€¢
Antilock Brake System (ABS)

?€¢
Engine Drag Control (EDC)

?€¢
Dynamic Rear Proportioning (DRP)

?€¢
Traction Control System (TCS)

?€¢
Vehicle Stability Enhancement System (VSES) (w/JL4)

The following components are involved in the operation of the above systems:
?€¢
Electronic brake control module (EBCM)--The EBCM controls the system functions and detects failures.

?€¢
Electronic brake control module (EBCM)--The EBCM controls the system functions and detects failures.

The EBCM contains the following components:

-
System relay--The system relay is energized when the ignition is ON and no ABS DTCs are present. It supplies battery positive voltage to the solenoid valves and pump motor.

-
Vent tube--The vent tube, located in the EBCM connector, is an opening to the internal cavity of the EBCM. It allows ventilation of the EBCM internals.

?€¢
Brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV)--The BPMV contains the hydraulic valves and pump motor that are controlled electrically by the EBCM. The BPMV uses a 4 circuit configuration with a diagonal split. The BPMV directs fluid from the reservoir of the master cylinder to the left front and right rear wheels and fluid from the other reservoir to the right front and left rear wheels. The diagonal circuits are hydraulically isolated so that a leak or malfunction in one circuit will allow continued braking ability on the other.

Important: There is a rubber isolator located under the BPMV and on the mounting studs. The rubber isolators protect the BPMV and the EBCM from vehicle vibrations.

?€¢
The BPMV contains the following components:

-
Pump motor

-
Inlet valves (one per wheel)

-
Outlet valves (one per wheel)

-
Master cylinder isolation valves (one per drive wheel)

-
Prime valves (one per drive wheel)

?€¢
Wheel speed sensors (WSS)--As the wheel spins, the wheel speed sensor produces an AC signal. The EBCM uses this AC signal to calculate wheel speed. The wheel speed sensors are replaceable only as part of the wheel hub and bearing assemblies.

?€¢
Traction control switch--The TCS is manually disabled or enabled using the traction control switch.

?€¢
Stoplamp switch--The EBCM uses the stoplamp switch as an indication that the brake pedal is applied.

?€¢
Lateral accelerometer sensor (w/JL4)--The EBCM uses the lateral accelerometer sensor as an indication of the lateral acceleration of the vehicle.

?€¢
Yaw rate sensor (w/JL4)--The EBCM uses the yaw rate sensor as an indication of the yaw rate of the vehicle.

?€¢
Steering wheel position sensor (SWPS) (w/JL4)--The EBCM uses the SWPS as an indication of the position and rotation of the steering wheel.

This systems are very complex , your best bet would be to take it to a qualified repair shop .

Can you help with multiple electrical issues??

This vehicle is equipped with the BOSCH 5.3 antilock braking system.
The vehicle is equipped with the following braking systems:
• Antilock Brake System (ABS)
• Dynamic Rear Proportioning (DRP)
• Traction Control System (ETS) (w/NW7)
• Traction Control System (TCS) (w/NW9)
• Vehicle stability enhancement system (VSES) You need to have vehicle checked for DTC'S diagnostic trouble codes , do you know what they are ? The traction control , ABS an stability control are all a function of the electronic brake control system .It also seams the power steering is controlled by the Antilock brake system. The Magnasteer® is controlled through the ABS module and varies the torque by adjusting the current flow through the actuator.
Your best place to start would be to have ABS module scanned for DTC'S . Codes would point you in right diagnostic direction .

How to diagnose an ABS problem

You need to find out what code is stored in the ABS control module, if the light is on there is a DTC an the system is disabled ! Don't know if auto part stores can pull ABS codes or not , You'll have to check it out . Personally I say take it to a ASE certified repair shop if you don't know anything about anti lock brakes !

PRE-DIAGNOSTIC INSPECTIONBefore diagnosing ABS/TCS, perform a comprehensive visual inspection of system as follows.Check ABS/TCS wiring harness connectors for looseness. Check harness routing; pay particular attention to wheel speed sensor wiring harness routing. Check fuses No. 1D, 5B and 6B in instrument panel fuse block. Check fuses No. 1 and 2 in underhood fuse block. Check brake fluid level in master cylinder reservoir. Check brake fluid level in Pressure Modulator Valve (PMV) assembly reservoir. Ensure parking brake is fully released. Ensure parking brake switch is functioning properly. Always perform ABS/TCS system functional check before using DIAGNOSTIC CODE CHARTSThe EBCM/EBTCM has self-diagnostic capability, which can detect system failures. Fault codes stored by EBCM/EBTCM can be displayed using Tech 1 scan tester. There are no provisions for flash code diagnostics.Begin ABS/TCS diagnosis with PRE-DIAGNOSTIC INSPECTION procedure. If failures are found during pre-diagnostic inspection, perform necessary repairs, and proceed with ABS/TCS FUNCTIONAL CHECK. See Fig. 5 .If no failures are found during pre-diagnostic inspection, go to ABS/TCS FUNCTIONAL CHECK. See Fig. 5 . The ABS/TCS FUNCTIONAL CHECK will either indicate ABS/TCS is functioning properly or direct technician to various diagnostic procedures such as diagnostic charts, symptom diagnosis or BRAKE warning light diagnosis.CHART D - TRACTION OFF WARNING LIGHT ON CONTINUOUSLY & NO DTC SET (BUICK WITH UH8 OR U2A INSTRUMENT CLUSTER)Circuit DescriptionWhen ignition switch is first turned to RUN position, EBTCM goes through a self-test, which lasts 2-4 seconds. How to restore 1st gear lockout from abs/trac. module acting up w/o replacing the very poorly designed unit that has been proven to cause worse braking/traction than an experienced driver can perform.

hi. does this sound familiar.

Anti Lock Brake System (ABS) problem. Has trouble code C1243.

1. Pin test power and ground to the Electronic Brake Traction Control Module (EBTCM).

2. Stress test the power and ground by using a high beam headlight or blower motor to put a load on the system.

3. If power and ground are OK, remove the EBTCM and hot wire the pump motor. If it runs OK and is quite, replace the EBTCM. If the motor is noisy replace both the Motor and the EBTCM.

2005 Impala 3.8L LS with service traction light on dashboard

It's usually the sensor inside the wheel hub or the wiring harness to the brake controller. The service traction light will set a trouble code. If your mechanic is stumped, authorize him to call a GM tech support line. The call is $50, but the GM tech support can help him figure out what's wrong.

What does ebcm/ebtcm mean

An Electronic Brake Control Module, or EBCM, monitors the rotation speed of each wheel. The EBCM decreases the braking force to a wheel when it detects that the wheel is rotating more slowly than the other wheels. Additional details for GM vehicles in this link: absfixer.com/how_do_i_remove.

EBTCM is the Electronic Brake Traction Control Module device.

Good luck.

My tc and abs light are coming on all the

Speedo and traction control; check wheel sensors all 4, clean and blow the sensors and reactor rings.
Is ABS light on as well? if so, you need a EBTCM module mounted to the brake ABS pump facing the battery. There are places in the US that rebuild them with warranty for under $150.

The check engine light is on, the ABS, and the traction control light are on. I went and had it put on the diagnostic machine at autozone, the following codes came up P1700 and U2108(twice) autozone could...

The P1700 is just a request for the check engine light, and this is caused by the U2108. The U2108 is basically telling you that the Electronic Brake and Traction Control Module (EBTCM) is not communicating with the powertrain control module, or the transmission control module.
The very first thing we must do is verify that the fuses that power the ebtcm are not blown and that they are powered. At this point I would like you to verify that the fuse labeled ABS in the fuse block is not blown and that it is powered with the key in the on position.
I would also like you to verify that the fuse labeled V1 inthe power distribution box is not burnt and that this is powered also. After this we need to move to the ebtcm to verify that you have voltage at pins 15,17,18 and that you have a ground at 19 and 16.

This would verify that the ebtcm is getting the proper voltage supplies to operate. The end result of this may possibly be a faulty ebtcm, but at this point we really need to check these items prior.Feel free to contact me with any questions at this point! Thanks!
