Are you saying you have smoke coming out of the tail pipe ? Or is something dripping onto the exhaust pipe and burning ? If the smoke is coming out of the tail pipe, is it blue, white, or black ?
Have you checked your oil? If it is low add the oil but blue smoke usally means the motor is using oil could be the rings or broken rings you will have to check the compression in the cyl.
It's very simply to find out if the turbocharger is causing blue smoke from the exhaust vs a blown head gasket. So, remove the turbocharger's compressor inlet centre hose (from the aluminium side of the turbo). Then see if there's in plenty of oil coming out from the hose and from the turbo. I'm 100% convinced that the turbocharger is damaged in your case. You can remove also the exhaust pipe out from the turbocharger, and see if there's a lot of oil coming out. Repair or replace bad turbocharger with a new one (or with a second hand in good condition one). Good Luck!
more than likelt its the turbo mate leaking from the exhaust side is there oil in the exhaust if so there is your problem if not take the 2" rubber pipe off from the turbo to the charge pipe and gently rev the bus you are looking for any wet oil coming out under load
Blue smoke, if its coming from your exhaust pipe, is from oil burning. Most likely from the engine, so check the oil. A broken piston ring, or bad valve guides can do this.
