Try pulling up a little on the parking brake pedal, it may not be retracting all of the way and contacting the switch.--------

A bad plug/socket can cause all the problems I'm having? While I'm not opposed to trying this, it seems weird that the various other switches, lights, and functions are affected when the blinkers aren't working. I just notice it during these times because I use my blinkers quite often. I'd like to make sure the blinkers are not just a symptom of something much bigger. I'll give the socket a go tonight and see if that fixes it. With the intermittent nature of this issue, it may be several days before I know if this solution worked.
This didn't help. I looked at all the sockets and they are like new. I traced the wiring under the truck from the rear lights to the frame. All connectors were good and clean with no oxidation or dirt inside. I took the dash apart and started looking at wires to no avail. I decided to put it all back together and take it to the dealer. This morning, I get in the truck and start it and it says the emergency brake is on. It's not on. I set and release it several times. I pull it up manually with my hand and the system thinks the brake is still on. I remove the wire on the back of the pedal, the light stays on. I now can not get the wire back on the pedal. I drive to work with a road-rage inducing ding-ding-ding for 25 miles. I am now worse off than when I started and I still have another 25 mile drive ahead of me. Do you have any idea how to shut the **** dinging off?
I was headed to the dealership everything started working again. When I got to the dealership all was good. I talked with the service guys and they basically told me they would have to troubleshoot and chase wires and look for obvious things if the problem wasn't present. They need to the problem to be present to figure it out. The service manager also believes it is likely a bad ground or the body control module but most like he believes it is the BCM. He said they wouldn't replace it or change it unless they could figure out that is what the problem is. I declined to leave my tahoe and took it home where the blinkers stopped working later that night when I moved it to the driveway.
I think yesterday's brake issues were related to me knocking something loose with the emergency brake as I removed/reinstalled the lower dash cover. When I got in the truck to go to the dealership, the brake light was reset and it was not on any longer.. Very strange!
Using the Mitchell online manual I got the part number for the BCM and Amazon has it for $128 shipped overnight so I ordered it. (funny as I go back the price is now $160.) I'll put that in tomorrow night and see if fixes my problems. Judging from the picture, the BCM is very easy to get to. I saw it the other night when I was under the dash. We'll see what happens after I replace it.
This issue was resolved by replacing the Body Control Module. To replace the BCM you must take your Tahoe to a dealer or a mechanic with the appropriate computer because the BCM has to be reprogrammed. BCM replacement REQUIRES reprogramming the new unit or your vehicle will NOT work.
