Hello. My stratus -97 (V6, 2.5) just stopped when I drove. A weak little dunk under the hood and all the lights came on. Also check engine. I have no spark anymore. Timing belt is intact and seated properly. I changed the ignition coil and tried, but no. (From Swedish to English by Google)

with the engine lt coming on with the cruise light it appears to be a trans problem like it is slipping

The issue is that the system randomly checks the loop of the fuel system to confirm that it has no leaks. A missing cap is the easy one to correct. It might also be a slpit in the rubber hose that connects the fuel fill tube (on the chassis) to the one on the tank, or any other hose in the the entire fuel delivery/ fume recovery sysrtem. The solenoid that allows the engine's vacuum to be used to conduct this test can also be sticking so that after the test cycle, it doesn't reclose. Good luck

when you broke the belt you most likely broke the magnet for the cam sensor. What you need to do is spin the engine around to TDC and look for a magnet.

Take the sensor out first.
