How does one remove broken horn button on a 1992-93 Honda Prelude and replace them with new ones, thre doesn't seem to be any screws that release the steering wheel assembly face cover to facilitate this job. There is a simple answer on another site that says "just pop out the old buttons" and get some from a wrecker, but it isn't that easy, I have tried but the old buton bases do not "Just Pop Out", well not on my model car. So that's the question how does one get the old ones out to put new ones in...?

If it has air bag in the wheel first you have to isolate the switch
from the back of the wheel spokes ( side facing dash) there may be 2 screws set well into the spoke that are undone to get the center of the wheel out first
from there on it is the same procedure as removing any steering wheel
all is explained in the workshop manual

SOURCE: The two bottom buttons on my Honda Prelude have

If you are referring to the buttons on the exterior of the steering wheel then they are hold in place with 2 screws - just take them out and the base will drop out. All the other buttons are clip-on ones - you just locate the hook, press the clip from the rear with your fingers and they will pop out. Of for whatever reason you can't put your hand in there you can do that with a stiff wire with a right angle bent at its tip - press it between the dash and what is left of the button.

How to change the third brake light on a 2001 honda prelude

The lens either has a small tab that you release it with or there are screws. It this is on the interior then the finishing cover just snaps on. Use something not metallic if you need to assist in gently prying at it. A screw driver may crack your glass.

Srs light on, horn and cruise won't work

Well it would be helpfull to see what codes are stored in the airbag computer, but its interesting that the horn and cruise arn't working. Maybe before spending the money on having the codes scanned, i would check all the fuses, just incase.

1988 ford broncho horn doesn't work ,relay clicks when horn button is pushed,I replaced the horn it still doesn't work. what should I check next.

OK, try to use a test light and connect the horn lead to ground to see if there is current, and to see if it sounds. If it does, then the wiring is fine to the horn itself. The relay may click, but are the contacts ok? Maybe swap out the relay for a new one.

I have a dodge caravan 2000, and the horn doesn't work. I changed the relay fuse and fuses. It still doesn't work. Please help.

REMOVE HOTWIRE HORN OR PRESS REMOTE BUTTON LOCK CAR DOORS IF YOU HEAR CAR HORN BLOWS WHEN ACTIVATE CAR ALARM. HORN WORKING.MORE LIKELY THE AIRBAG AND HORN PAD NEED REPLACING.IF YOU GOING TO FIX. DISABLE AIRBAG IN THE STEERING WHEEL BEFORE REPLACING THE AIRBAG AND HORN PAD. TURN OFF RADIO.THEN DISCONNECT NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE FOR 20 MINUTES BEFORE REMOVING AIRBAG IN STEERING WHEEL.THAT HORN PAD WITH AIRBAG IS NOT GOING TO BE CHEAP.

TOOLS:
Screw Driver, Plastic Cup to place your bolts.

STEPS:
1. Buy a new latch for $20 max. or $5 from your local junkyard
2. Open your hood. Take out your grille. Front bumper. Driver side fender and plastic fender cover.
3. Take the plastic panel covering the hood release latch. (should have 1 plastic screw, just pop that with a flat-head screw driver)

1997 honda prelude h22a4 timing belt

I do not think the original problem even matters at this point since the engine is probably broke with valves running into pistons.. when you fix it replace every thing that is broken.. and .. just getting in there and replacing the belt can alert you to any additional coming problems like the bearing going bad in the tensioner.. always check or replace the tensioner if there is any doubt as to its condition.. good luck.
