Could the smoke be coming from the exhaust manifold on the passenger side of the engine? When the valve cover starts to leak, it is common for the oil to leak down and burn on the outside of the exhaust manifold.
Replacing a valve cover gasket is not difficult or expensive, and it is common for BMW valve cover gaskets to get brittle and shrink and start leaking every 10 years or so. My wife's 330 needed a new valve cover gasket at 6 years.

Oil smoke.coming from both sides of engine

Check your rocker cover gaskets for any signs of oil leaks. Oil leaking from your engine can contact the exhaust headers, or other hot parts of the engine and can burn, resulting in smoking and a burning smell.

Every time i get out of my car after driving it for more than thirty minutes it smells funny like if it was burning, not smoking or anything its just a light smell of something burning maybe leaking oil...

check to see your rocker cover is not weeping oil. This can also come from oil pressure switch etc and spill onto the exhaust manifold. Could even be rear main seal. Check these by wiping around these areas with a clean rag and inspecting after a day or to. Then fix wots leaking! hope this helps

SPARK PLUGS FULL OF OIL

Do you notice a puddle under the car? Or smoking when you shut it off? The rocker cover gaskets are the culprit. If you have the spark plugs in a well inside the rocker cover, the will fill up with oil and also leak out the back. You can replace the gaskets, a fairly easy job, you have to pull everything off the top of the engine to get the covers off. And they give you the new seals for the spark plug well with the gasket kit. They only go about 10 years, I replaced mine and they are starting to leak again. Hope this helps.

Can a burning smell come from a deteriorating 3.8 GM supercharger?

More then likely no... this is either the supercharger oil (sulfer smell) or from the rocker arm cover gasket leaking.... check if the rocker arm cover gasket is under recall?

My 1995 Acura Legend smokes very bad when at an idle. If I replace all the gaskets and the rings, will this most likely fix the problem? I have someone who will do this for me. I do not have the money to...

you think all gaskets and rings will cover everything? 1st thing you must do is determine the source of the smoke. If it only smokes at idle, but never under accel or at cruise, I would HIGHLY doubt its rings. Rings leak worst under pressure...when accelerating or under high load. If it smokes at idle and even more under long decels (like coasting down a long hill) it may very well be valve seals. If it ONLY smokes at idle and never any other time, it may be as simple as plugged oil returns or a PCV problem? Dont start changing things. DIAGNOSE 1st, then change when you have determined a cause.
