My son has a 2004 Grand Prix GTP. It turns over but won't start. We added gas-checked spark plugs for spark ok- hit gas tank with hammer-checked fuel pressure 59 psi when cranking engine. What could be the problem?

I actually have the same car, and when mine did that it ended up being a cracked spark plug. So I changed the plug and it cracked again. Ended up needing new spark plug wires.

Double check the wiring harness to make sure it did not get pinched under the manifold or the top cover. It is common for a single wire to get pinched and shorted and cause this.

where is rattle?under car ,i'm just going to give this a shot , loose heat shields on exhaust system . hope this helps ,good luck

You need a new starter solenoid. It is essentially a heavy duty remote switch that is activated by your ignition key switch. The solenoids get stuck or don't conduct well after 6 to10 years.

Spark plugs, transmission fluid and coolant change, supercharger oil, air filter, fuel filter, tires, brakes, engine mounts, BTSI inspection and power steering fluid. Also inspect the belts, hoses, pulleys and look for wiring damage.

check headlight bulb first/ then the socket if ok check switch then the electrical wiring connections it must be one of those...

bad fuel pump.- just replace it and your good to go!

yep i seen it in happen .i was at a gas station a guy drove car to the gas station on empty.he fill his tank up .could not get it to crank .some cars you have to restart fuel pump when run out of gas. like chrysler.you use a scanner. but chervrolet you run low over heat damage the pump.it has to stay submerge gas to keep it cool. check fuel pump pressure.it should be 41 - 47 psi.

check the fuel pump and lines. look for the fuel filter and see how much junk is in it.
