Ground wire (black) open between drivers door conector and door pillar due to flexing. Locate break and solder in some extra wire to relieve the stress when the door is used.

Found this wiring diagram for lift gate, if that is what we're talking about? Not only check the fuses, check fuse circuit for voltage. Use a testlite.

Tailgate won't open

is this a RKE FOB only statement, and no keys tried?
all buttons tried? in car and the fob button?
Usually there are 3 ways, at least. Fob, real key and door switches.
the driver on some cars have a button to open all locks in car.

id remove the inside tail gate, panel.
the lever to the lock is there. move the lock by hand iniside, i bet it opens now.

on most cars there is a child lock feature, its covered in the operators guide the fact there. read that. first.

wits end.?
id remove the inside tail gate, panel.
the lever to the lock is there. move the lock by hand inside, i bet it opens now.

Bought a 1995 jeep grand cherokee orvis . it has no keeless remote, just keys.installed new battery and the security must be on.all lights inside and out are blinking.on and off. how do i reset security.

Try turning the key..unlock-lock-unlock in the rear tailgate lock. That should turn off the factory security system.
If it's an aftermarket alarm system, you will need an alarm installer's help in determining what type and model alarm it is, before you can figure out how to shut it off.
