Want to replace broken outside door handle on 1993 corolla

If you have the linkage there and it is working, Then the latch is broke. Replace it.

you will have to remove the interior door panel inside to access the linkage to open the door you, Check the door handle if it is broken inside and out. The outside door handle is bolted on the inside one may have to drill a rivet out. You can use a bolt and nut to reinstall it make sure it isnt too long. Or you can rivet it back in. You will have to inspect the linkage and check out the adjustment and the plastic retainers sometimes you need to replace those they will come with new handles.The window has to be up to access the outside door handle from the inside.

you need to remove the inside door panel first. there will be a screw at the inside door handle and two screws for the armrest in the center of the panel. look around the outside edges of the panel for any other screws or clips to remove. the rest of the clips are behind the panel and snap when you pull on the panel. once off with the window up you can see the door handle screws. two of them. remove the connecting rods first.depending on which door you may have a lock rod also. then remove the screws and the handle will come out. good luck

Actually, I suggest going to a junk-yard to get your parts. It will be much more expensive to get at your dealership or bodyshop, plus the huge huge huge labor fee. If you want to invest a few minutes to save yourself some time, look to see what other vehicles use the same door handle yours does, (it will be a toyota).

Yes just remove the door pannel and undo the bolts holding the handle on and unclip the rod to the door lock.and replace.

You can get inside door handle either new or used from sellers on ebay. It should be just a few dollars plus shipping. Just search ebay for "Inside door handle 1991 Toyota Corolla."

It's probably broken, or unhooked. Just take your inner door panel off, and you'll soon figure out what's happening. Sometimes the rods get bent, or they come off the clip, or just need adjusting. And sometimes the handle itself is broken, but you can do it!

You do need to pull off the inner door panel. After the panel is off, you are going to need to disconnect the lock rods from the outer handle and the key cylinder to the door latch mechanism. You will need a long 1/4" drive ratchet and extension, and a 10 millimeter socket. The outer handle is held on by 2 10 mm bolts, you access them thru the inner part of the door. There is a hole provided, with clear tape over it, that will lead you to the harder to see bolt. After the bolts are out, remove the handle, swap the key cylinder into the new handle, and reinstall. Not hard at all.

i have a corolla i have been through 3 drivers door handles for some reason they break fairly easy the handles aftermarket are usually 50 bucks or so and i should take about an hour to replace so idk what ur mechanics hourly rate is but this should be a rought idea
