Check the relay before you replace the pump The switch is usually located around the passengers kickpanel. There should be an access hole to press the button on the switch. Sometimes the part is just above the carpet and sometimes you have to remove the kickpanel. If you are unable to find this switch on the passengers side, then look on the drivers side kickpanel.

Under the hood is a Powerbox. The shutoff switch (inertia switch) gets its power from the Fuel pump Relay after the Ignition is turned on. If resetting the shutoff switch does not help, your fuel pump Relay may be bad. On some Ford models, the horn Relay is the same Relay used for the fuel pump. This would allow you to swap and test before buying a new Relay.

Question about a P0191 DTC on a 2004 Ford Explorer XLT

What repairs can fix the P0191 code?

  • Replacing fuel filter(s) or fuel pump
  • Replacing the fuel pressure regulator
  • Repairing any broken, frayed, or shorted wires that lead to the fuel pressure sensor
  • Repairing corroded connector to the fuel pressure sensor
  • Replacing fuel pressure sensor
  • Repairing any vacuum leaks in the engine

Many times this error will also occur if there already exists fuel/air problems, like your previous code 2106 means there are one or more components in your car's intake/exhaus/air/injection systems that is having serious problems

Why does my 1987 ford f-150 with the 302 v8 not gettin fuel to fuel rail

Your fuel pump is turning on for that few seconds as the key turns to the on position, if not, the connector to the fuel pump the wires are shorting out, or disconnecting within, the wire, will have to replace wires, to pump, or replace the pump, also, check the relays between the air cleaner box, and, the brake master cyl., black cover with wires coming out the bottom, those relays wires could be breaking down. "try before you buy it's cheaper"

Our 1984 Ford E 350 Brougham XL RV was running great, but now when we start it, it only runs for about 30 seconds. We've been checking the fuel pump relay and wiring having to do with it. We are...

check the fuel filter, it could be clogged,, try this , get some carb spray ,, spray it into the air intake,, while someone turns the vehicle over, if it runs as long as the spray is being applied, but stops when you quit spraying ( don't use to much , just do this as a test , ) then your fuel filter is clogged or the fuel pump isn't supplying a constant pressure of fuel, Now, if when the spray is being shot into the carb, and when the key is released into the run position and the vehicle stops,, your ignition is shot, and needs replacing

87 dodge d150 225 6 fuel pump was not getting gas changed it still no gas

I don't know about 225 six,but a 5.2 318 v8 ,and 5.9 360v8, and some other older modle Dodges, as well as some GM engines, have a ROD that rides on the camshaft
this rod needs to be pushed up into block out of the way, and held there (I usually use greese to hold the rod in place )
then the fule pump can be installed , if the rod isn't above the pump lever, the pump will not only not work, but can also become damaged
The rod works like a push rod on the pump lever
hope this helps

We have a 2003 ford explorer and it periodically doesnt start. Sometimes the engine will turn over just fine and sometimes it does nothing. We have had it to the dealer several times over the past three...

Note the type of conditions that this happens in like high humidity, rain completely dry or does any of that make a difference? I would suspect a faulty crankshaft position sensor that is possibly cracked or corroded wires to it. If there is oil leaking onto the plug occassionally this can disrupt the signal as well.
