Hi. I have a 2004 Nissan Sentra and the brake lights are out. I checked the fuse and it appears to be fine. What other troubleshooting can I do to try to fix this issue??
Thanks

Hi Robin-
There are two fuses for the radio in a 2004 Nissan Sentra. Fuse #6 in the fuse box inside the cabin, and #31 in the fuse-fusible link box next to the battery. Hope this helps!
Yes, it's most likely a faulty brake light switch. When you depress the brake pedal, it disengages the shifter. Fist thing to do is check your fuse box to make sure there are no blown fuses. If all the fuses check Ok, then check the brake switch, it should be located under the dash just follow the brake pedal all the way up into the dash and the switch should be there next to the pedal. Check for power at the switch to make sure that it's faulty. One of the wires should have 12 volts. If none of the wires carry 12 volts, then theres a blown fuse somewhere, But if there's power at the switch, then replace the switch and it should work.
you mean the shifter???? make sure that your brake lights work. it uses the brake light switch to unlock the shifter. if they dont work, check fuse and if the brake light switch is working correctly.
check the brake light switch.
It's usually up under the dash, and it activated by the brake pedal.
There are 2 wires going to it. To test it, jumper across the leads.
or, watch the "action" sometimes you just need to reposition the switch to get it to work.
HI IT WAS LOCATE IN UPPER OF THE BRAKE PEDAL BEFORE YOU CHANGE IT CHECK FOR :-
STOP LAMP SWITCH AND ASCD CANCEL SWITCH CLEARANCE 1. Twist and pull to remove switch. 2. Pull up on brake pedal pad and hold. 3. Insert switch into retainer until switch plunger is completely depressed. 4. Turn the switch until it locks into place in the brake pedal bracket. NOTE: When turning the switch to lock into place, the switch backs off the stopper to the correct clearance automatically. 5. Release the brake pedal pad.
