my monterosport 2001 runs great till you come to a stop sign the rpms drop and it dies start it back up revs itself and rpms drop and it dies. we can start it up rev it and it clearsup and idles but later on when you come to a stop it dies again we have cleaned the egr valave and still same thing could the tps be the problem or what?
Sounds like a dirty mass air flow sensor but the hill thing is strange...Is the tank full when this happens? Could be a filter and would not hurt to change it (often neglected).
Sounds like you have a bad mount if it is vibrating at idle, and goes away with RPMs. Most of them I see are the front motor mount, not the front of the car, but the front/timing side of the engine. Easy way to tell is to take a pry bar and pry up while engine is running. If it goes away, you have found the mount.
it would not be an O2 sensor, period, they would never cause a high idle, have u had this checked for trouble codes? A sticking idle speed control air bypass can cause this problem as well as a throttle position sensor, but run the codes, Kragen does it for free was well as other parts stores.
