How do I(not take to shop)turn off my check engine,ABS,air bag light on 1998 nissan frontier 4x4?

Well since the lights are controlled by the OBD (on board diagnostics), you'll have to reset it. You may be able to do this by simply disconnecting the battery for a few hours. However, a lot of newer vehicles have electronically locked radios which require the manual to be able to be re-enabled.

I'd check out the radio before disconnecting the battery.

The only other ways are to physically disconnect the lights in the dash or get someone with an OBD reader to clear the codes.

You will need to take that to a shop that handles airbag/sir, srs systems and can use a scan tool that will read and define the error code that is making the light blink.

The third brake light is always on and the abs light also frontier 2002
Couple of questions....
when you step on the brakes pedal do the other brake lights work?
does the third brake light go out with the brake switch unplugged?
have you checked for trouble codes in the abs module?

are you getting any codes,could be defective gas cap loosing compression this causes light to come on all the time and its the cheapest to change try this for a couple of miles and see if it helps

With a volt meter and the engine at idle, check the voltage at the battery.It should always be just over 12 up to 14 volts. At idle with no accessorys on (lights, fan, radio ect.) The voltage should stay just over 12 volts. As you turn on all the accessorys the voltage should rise up to between 12-14 volts.
Also, a new battery needs to be fully charge before use. Most new batterys sit on the shelf and lose charge. My last new battery needed 8 hours of chargeing to be fully charged.

When i have my engine running and i switch on my head lights and my hazard lights the seat bag light starts flashing then the abs light starts flashing then the engine cuts out it's a 98 nissian frontier 4...

The ABS and air-bag light are permanently on and a warning light
kenchyke, the shop may have disabled the air bag system to work on the car, and possibly forgot to activate it again. While this seems a bit odd to me that they could overlook this but, since it started after the work was done, you need to return it to the shop asap to have them check it out. Although the car runs fine, the abs system and the air bags won't operate, which could result in injury if you are in an accident (air bag will not deploy, abs probably disconnected).

check your ABS sensors.... sometimes they can get dirty and not read the wheel right.... that might fix you ABS solution.... and possibly your 4x4 it doesnt want to engage in 4 wheel cause of the abs
