1995 olds aroura, stays first gear won't shift all ready changed trans fluid filters. what do i need to do now.

99to 2004 odyssey had problem with TCS solenoid
The solenoid screen that adjust and filters during shifts becomes clogged. After prolonged use( about the time you notice bad shifting) the filter is already clogged. It will throw a TCS light. Typical symptoms are bad acceleration, poor shifting ( typically 1-3 gear), hard shifting( banging when changing gears and hard shifting when putting it in drive. The issue goes away after the trans has cooled but comes back as the temp rises. change the trans fluid and then put new solenoid so it won't get clogged again,but there is chance ,your trans is on it's last leg,when you change the fluid,run the old fluid through paper towel and see how much debris from clutch material is on towel and, if there is any metal particle on towel,that is sign of bad transmission

First off, have you changed your trans fluid lately. sounds like you need a trans flush. when you drop the trans pan and replace the filter and fluid you only get 3 to 4 quarts of transfluid. your trans holdt 12 to 15 quarts. so have it flushed completely cost $80 tp $120 but beats buying a new or rebuilt trans. always make sure you have the right amount of trans fluid. underfilling will cause lose of pressure and not shift properly. over filling a trans will cause over pressure and cause worse problems.

check trans fluid level/color. trans may have old/bad fluid in it and may need to be flushed and new filter installed.

Check the electrical connectors to the shift solenoids,if they are ok the trans is ready for a rebuild.

what color was the trans fluid when you took it out? did it "sparkle" like it had metal shavings in it?

CHECK TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL FIRST BUT IT SOUND LIKE YOU NEED A FLUID AND FILTER CHANGE IF TRANSMISSION FILTER STOPPED UP TRANSMISSION PUMP CAN DRAW FLUID THROUGH CLOGGED FILTER.WHEN ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION GET HOT FLUID WILL GET HOT AND THIN ENOUGH TRAVEL THROUGH FILTER SO CAR CAN SHIFT INTO OVER DRIVE.DO A FLUID AND FILTER CHANGE SEE WHAT HAPPENS.

gear oil, weight and capacity is in the owners manual. the guy behind the counter at the parts store can sell you some.

one thing ive warned my friends to never do and that is to never have your trans flushed cause you may have new fluids but what about the trans filter its old and iots there for that reason to keep dirt and metal; shavings from the bands so try having your oil and filter in the transmission replaced , pull your trans dip stick and on a white piece of paper put a drop of trans oil that you have in your trans at that very moment it should be redish pink but if its brown and smells really bad then the problem is in the oil and filter . change it before u have to replace the whole trans

sounds like the pump in the Trans is getting weak, not putting out the presure it should. Off to the Transmission shop.
