buy a new handle for twenty bucks.

You have to get the door panel off....then you can open doot

they had a few year run of the inside handles breaking off on the back side where the rod connects

LINKAGE INSIDE DOOR IS PROBABLY DISCONECTED OR BINDING

Blowing hot air when set to A/C is almost always a stuck blend door, dead blend door actuator, or a cracked or disconnected blend door actuator vacuum line. The blend door is inside the a/c ducting under the dash, but the actuator will be accessible outside the ducting.

did you check to see if the child safety lock is activated

there are screws at the very bottom of the panel then behind the plastic piece behing the door handle lever 2 more inside the handle (used to close the door) and a couple on the rear part of the door about halfway up then just give it a couple little pulls to pop off the push staps

I just went thru this on my 2002. The silver handle is actually plastic (I didn't previosly realize this) and had broken in such a way that it no longer applied leverage to the door mechanism. Everything still worked fine from the outside.
I got a new handle from the dealer (is one complete piece) for about $70. and took the door apart (much more difficult than it sounds).3 or 4 screws across the bottom - 2 in the flip up portion of door handhold and 1 straight behind the handle itself. Lots of plastic pop locks holding door in place - need to be pulled straight out vice normal slide up - proceed slow - very easy to break plastic pieces. Replacing handle requires you to drill out three rivets and replace them for holding new door handle in place.
Can do in about 1 hr with help and all the necessary tools - flat pry bar, screwdrivers, cordless drill, etc.
