Take the numbers from the sticker, the VIN code and proof of ownership to a dealer to get the code. They won't do this over the phone. I hope this helps, Take care
Check your owners handbook, sometimes its in the back. If not go online to sites that sell radio codes. Basically type in "Ford radio codes" get the make model and serial number off yours. They are all on the back of the set. You may need someone to remove the radio for you to get them. Enter the numbers as required on the website, see if they have your set listed, pay a couple of bucks and they will send you the code. Shop around for the best deal, the costs vary considerably.
If your radio is just saying "locked" without any numbers after it then just turn on ignition and turn radio on and leave until code appears..... Depending on how many wrong attempts have been made will depend on the wait! Could be minutes or hours...... Just turn on and wait!
I suggest the previous owner or supplying dealer is contacted to discover if they have the code which should be part of the vehicle literature pack and be transferred with the vehicle along with the keys.
Usually a coded radio will not initially be permanently blocked, but after a wait a few further attempts to enter the code can be made but eventually the unit will be permanently blocked. Full details are contained in the audio manual which is also part of the vehicle literature pack.
The audio code can be found by removing the radio and noting the serial number. Providing proof of ownership and the details to the manufacturer's dealer and paying hard cash and they will provide the number.
There are cheaper online sources of code numbers but if the radio is close to being permanently blocked it will be too risky to enter any but the correct code.
If the unit is permanently blocked the services of a specialist will be required to decode or recode it.
go to dealer with proof of ownership title--registration [they have vin number on them] ,and your id and ask for code your owners manual will tell you how to reset radio using code -------if you have the dealer reset it for you they usually charge---and the dealer is the place to get codes because your radio code is part of anti-theft system
Look in your owners manual to see if there is a code in there for unlocking the radio and instructions for unlocking procedures. If the code is not in there, I would suggest going to a Ford dealer and tell him what happened and they can provide you the unlock code and/or help you get the radio unlocked. And when it has happened to me in the past, there was no charge.
You may need the owners manual for this. The dealer can provide the steps too. If the display says LOCKED you have to unlock it before it will accept the code. On some models you turn the radio off, press the number 6 or the select button, then turn the radio back on. Once the display is all lines or dots, you can input the code by pressing the number one button for the first digit and so on.
I'm assuming the battery power was disconnected and the radio security feature is asking for the code now. There are no generic codes. Unless you have this radio code provided with the owners manual that came with the vehicle, you will need to contact GM for this radio code.
.
If the master code or owner selectable code is lost or forgotten, the GFA RF keypad must be replaced. These codes are not stored in any vehicle module (with the exception of 2004 F-Super Duty vehicles produced prior to 12/3/2003).
if u put in the wrong code to many times or entered it wrong and it security locked out[SEC] dealer needs to hook up to vehicle to reset the security lockout before u can reset the radio with the correct code
