My 2003 chevy silverondo feul pump stops working . have changed feul pump worked good for week and started doing it again. will start up again but who knows when

Change your fuel Filter. Start there,If that does not work you can drop tank and clean up screen. if that dont work then id go with regulator. I would do fuel filter first

start checking fuel pressure easier then changing pump re check that all is plugged in by air cleaner

check the feul pump pressure if not enough it will do that you can take a spay bottle and spay the intake with gas as it runs and if
it stays running change the feul pump if not you have a coil problem

It sounds like the fuel pressure check valve on the fuel pump has gone bad and your losing fuel pressure when engine is turned off. Try priming the fuel pressure twice, that's when you turn the ignition keys to the run position with out starting the engine for 10 seconds and then turning the key's to the off position and on again for 5 seconds. After the second prim the engine should start, to check this you can lone out a fuel pressure gauge and check the fuel pressure at the shredder valve. You should have 62 to 65 PSI during prim and once the engine is running, it should drop by 5 psi. As for your the accuracy on reading the right amount of fuel in your gas tank, the sensor is apart of the fuel pump sending unit and the float may have gotten bent and nothing you can do to fix it unless you take the fuel pump out again and replace the sending unit. check relay, fuses or circuit breaker

Possibly the starter. Do you hear a clicking noise when you try start it? Make sure the battery is charged fully. Maybe even jump it.

Did you install a new pump? Used pumps may be cheaper but not if you have to change them.

Test for weak spark when it wont run....my guess is that its the ignition module inside distributer...they heat up and shut off spark,then cool down and work again for a while...good luck..Lee

check to see if their is any fuses blown or change out the fuel pump relay and also check to see if the ground to the fuel pump is getting a good connection these things should solve your problem.Good luck
