I finally took it in to the shop and at the time the relay switch was plugged in before it went in the shop, it was supposedly not grounded. Anyway, it was the relay switch up under the drivers side of the van up front. It was corroded. My van has a 3.3 . Thanks

How did you know that relay is bad? What about temperature sensor? BTW, what engine do you have?

Why would the cooling fan relay on my 96 Dodge grand caravan keep frying?

My first guess would be the fan motor is pulling too much current thru the relay.

Dodge caravan 2000 3.3 L. 40 amp. cooling fan fuse blows in 5 sec appox. new fan relay , new fan motors ,new heat senor. thanks tom war

My 96 Caravan had this problem as well as the passenger headlight would not come on. It turned out to be pinched and shorted wires under the battery box where the wires plug into the power box and computer. It happened the first time driving away from the dealer the day I bought it! It got worse from there.

I have a 97 dodge grand caravan that has a cooling fan problem. I have replaced the fans, radiator, col temp sens, fan relay, fuses and the fan still does not come on. i did notice the previous owner cut...

Make sure the fans are well grounded. You can temporarily jump 12 volts from the battery to the fans in order to check if they work. The new relay also could have been compromised if the wiring was incorrect before.

2000 grand caravan 3.8 Condenser fans not comming on with a/c ...fans do cycle with engine temp compressor is engauging and a/c is trying to work but gets hot fast with no ..... fan working

Check under the hood in the fuse/relay panel. Lift the cover and look inside the cover for the correct location for the fuse/relay controlling the cooling fans. Either the fuse will be blown or the relay is bad. Use a test light to check the fuse for power on both sides,if you have power on the fuse then the relay has gone bad. Hope this will help you.
