If you keep your tank under 1/2 rust can form on inside of the tank causing the fuel filter to get clogged. I'ld check that first. When your remove filter, if it's a rusty color gas that comes out, I'ld bet that's your problem.

I have a 2001 jeep grand cherokee drive it a while turn the engine off wont start back up

Your starter solenoid armature is sticking. It is mounted atop the starter and the heat from the exhaust manifold sometimes causes this problem on older systems. You can try a temporary fix by placing some type of heat shield over the solenoid using something that is fire proof but replacing the solenoid will eventually be necessary.

Install a new crank shaft sensor. I had the same problem with my wife's Jeep. It would run fine fore days at a time then quit. When the crank sensor goes out their is no spark or injection of fuel into the engine. This is a Hall Sensor. They can be intermittent, and affected bu heat. If your Jeep will not start, try freeing the sensor and see if it starts. Cold Freeze is used in electronics to test

As when front elevated, possible small leak on fuel pipe, check connections, air getting in fuel runs back to tank, so when starting, has to pull fuel back up before starting

I have a 96 jeep and it runs fine, but sometimes when i go to start it wont, just turns over and nothing then i can wait a few min and itll fire up or i can use gas or starting fluid, im kinda lost as to...

You need to check, when the jeep is cold, if the check engine light comes on when you turn the ignition switch to on, before cranking the engine. If that light does not light up on the dash immediately, then the jeep won't start until it does, which can be as short as a few minutes to as long as 20 minutes. That would be a classic sign of a bad ecu, slowly getting worse, that needs repair. Check it out and post back here in this same thread with your findings.

97 Jeep Cherokee in line 6 dies while driving or sometimes while idling. Sometimes starts back immediately but cuts back off or won't start until you sit about 15 minutes.

there is a cranksensor at back of engine top of bellhousing i think if you lay under vehicle on drivers side looking up where transmission meets engine you will see a little bracket with wires going into can be removed with long extension on swivel little hard to get new back in place and start bolts had customers wife,s jeep it would cut-off or not start she would get a ride he would go to vehicle later in day to see what happened and it would start he would think it was just her and nothing wrong but a day or two later same senario we finally nail it with cranksensor no more problem

Car not starting or turning over indicates towards multiple possibilities. It can be issue with battery or weak battery. But if battery checks out ok, then it can be starter issue or faulty alternator or problem with low fuel pressure or no spark at spark plugs due to dirty spark plugs or faulty ignition coil or injectors getting cracked or dirty and needs to be cleaned.

To confirm the problem, the basic troubleshooting is required.

2002 impala intermitenly wont start

I would clean the battery connecters or possibly change them. How old is the battery? sometimes when battery get old, they have enough juice to crank the motor but not enough to start it..But then again, if it doesn't crank at all sometimes, it could certainly be a bad or loose battery terminals..Start with this since its the simplest and easiest and could very well be your problem. hope this helps

Starting problems

I had the same problem with my 97 olds 88. I would leave it off for work all day and would start up fine. If left for 15-20 minutes like you said it would not have inough power to turn over. You will probly have to replace your starter. I had the problem for about a year and finally had to replace it. got it about 10 months ago and have'nt had a problem since. You might want to have it checked out first by a professional first though. Hope this helps!
