Fix this problem by using trial an error
u could have bad sparkplugs the smell of gas could mean bad oxygen senor an cloged fuel injectors
try changing your sparkplugs an get your injectors cleaned
Sound like you have a bad fuel pressure regulator . check your fuel pressure. could also be a leaking injector. the fuel pressure test will tell you which one

When driving or taking off in my 93 300zx n/a I seem to loose some power going thru the gear, even and especially when I'm in 5th gear.. Whats the problem?
idle will slow way down and sometimes stall out, other times the idle will go very high like 2800 RPM, almost always runs rough, and sometimes the excess gas burning smell trying to start it back up is very strong
