The Security system code keeps coming on says car may not restart. Is there a way to disarm this or reset it ?

You can't Disarm the system, but there are a number of ways to try and reset it.

Mostly you can't. A security code is embedded in the system that prevents the engine starting and must be disarmed in order for the engine to start. The system disarms when the code embedded in the key or the fob is recognised.

When the system fails to work you need the assistance of trained professionals with dedicated diagnostic equipment.

You may have burned something up. Check with manufacturing codes, the rapid light flashing can be a code.

If you are handy with vehicle electrical, you can apply ground to the factory disarm wire, to permanently disarm the factory security. It's location and color;

Keep in mind that the Grand Cherokee '93 at '98 keep the same features 8I have '93 GC Limited and this procedure work for me).

Anti Theft System - inmobilizer is actovated. Need disarm to start engine. Have you another key and fob? Try lock/unlock cycle with new key + fob. Your key may be corrupted.

Try also just unlocking the car with the key (not the fob) as soon as you unlock the door put the key in the ignition immediately and see if the car starts.

If you have your radio code it may be worth trying a total reset (leave the car unlocked) disconnect the battery and leave for 20 mins. then reconnect.

this wouldn't be the proper thing to do but,since you don't have the remote@Iasume you'r not useing the security system,you could remove the feuse

go back the trunk put the key in and turn it resets the system worked on mine found it out googal
i keep take the battire off and didnt work it go off when it get hot but this works the trunk are turn the key resets it strange

have the system check by a locksmith
