We are trying to identify what looks like two plug in ports in the engine compartment of our 84 cj7 (258 motor). Looking toward the firewall, on the upper left side there are two ports...the top one is a 6 pin port, the bottom is a 15 pin port. We are having trouble smogging an out of state jeep in California, and wondering if these might be some kind of diagnostic ports. Thanks.

Wherever you can find a threaded port in the cooling system should work,as long as it is the same thread as your sending unit.If you cannot find a compatible threaded port, you may have to go to a hardware store and find some fittings that will adapt your sending unit to whatever threaded port is available. If you can not find one, most engine blocks have two (one on each side) threaded plugs for the water jacket. If you have to,locate the sending unit there with appropriate adapters. And as a last resort, you could purchase an aftermarket temp gauge and use it,as it comes with an assortment of adapters/fittings.

SOURCE: 1989 Jeep Cherokee - Electrical Problem - horn, brake lights, blinkers, radio/cd...

I think I have found the problem. When I wiggle the ignition switch the turn signals and radio go on and off so I feel the issue is in the ignition switch. From what I understand the actual electronics for the switch are at the base of the sterring column behind the lower dash panel and is connected by a rod that may need adjusting.

SOURCE: 2001 jeep Grand Cherokee fuel injectors

check the injectors on that bank for pulses.. a regular 12v text light will do it should flash when cranking... its very possible that the crank sensor or camshaft sensor on the replacement engine is bad and giving you all the problems you have now.. are you using the original injectors? if you have injector pulses then check the coil for pulses the same way.. btw make sure you have 12v to them even before cranking engine could be a bad asd relay..wet plugs on one bank would also indicate a possible leaking injector and basicly draing the fuel starving the oposite bank for fuel.. to verify that the rail must be lifted by removing all 4 bolts make sure the clips hold the injectors firmly and turn the key to run but dont crank it then look for fuel leakin from bottom of injector(s) any drips is a bad injector..

Yes your vehicle has a pilot bushing. It will be in the center of the flywheel. The tip of the input shaft goes into the bushing to add support to the input shaft. It will be either a bronze bushing or a needle bearing. There are one of two ways to extract it. Remove the flywheel and knock it out from the back side. Or you can buy a pricey tool that spreads internally to catch the back side and pull it out. My favorite way and the cheap way is to pack grease in the hole in the center and get a wood dowel that fits snugly in to the center of the bearing. Place the dowel in the hole and use a hammer to sharply hit the end of the dowel. The way this works is a simple principal of hydraulics. The pressure from the dowel being hit forces the grease in to the hole and the pressure of the grease pushes the old pilot bearing out of the hole since liquids are not compressable. Then just tap the new pilot bushing or bearing in to the hole. The trick is to get a dowel that just goes in to the hole snugly with very little clearance so the grease can not squeeze out past the dowel when hit. Trust me this works well. I have done this hundreds of times. Good luck. Feel free to inquire more if you need more help. Ley me know how it goes for you.

Were is the ac low port located on 2010 dodge caravan

They did a good job hiding it, but here's where to find it. It is in the engine compartment, on the driver's side (but towards the center), and is along the firewall between the engine and passenger compartments. The two silver-metallic refrigerant lines run horizontal from the passenger side (then turn and penetrate into the passenger compartment. The port is on the low side facing towards the front of the vehicle. You might need to move a hose out of your view, especially if you have the 4L engine (since the "big plastic cover" narrows your field of view.
I hope that helps.

Looking for low pressure side a/c hook up port

If you look on the passengers side, you will see a electric connector harness that fills the upper left firewall.
Beneath that wiring connector and back towards the passenger compartment is the black oblong A/C tank. On the black oblong tank is the low pressure fill port. You need either a regular Manifold gauge set with the longer hoses or a hose extension to have room to connect a can of Freon to the tank.

If Ford would have just reversed the position of those parts it would have helped.

I have a 2001 ford taurus and i have antifreeze coming out of the firewall. to me it looks like a plug is missing . has anybody ever seen this before

Yep - if the coolant is inside the car, you've got a bad heater core. The inlet and outlet ports go through the firewall into the engine compartment and connect to hoses there. If the leak is in the engine compartment, the hoses may be cracked from age and leaking.

1992 honda ex

The Freon goes into the "suction" hose/pipe assembly. There will be a service port on this hose. The low side (blue) hose of the manifold gauge set gets connected to this fitting. The suction hose can be identified by it's larger diameter (compared to the discharge and liquid hoses). The suction hose will run from the compressor across the top of the radiator (slightly behind the radiator), then back towards the firewall on the passenger's side of the engine compartment. The service port is generally closer to the firewall, than to the compressor.
